Can our swap with the Lakers be deferred if the Lakers make the playoffs this year? Do the Pelicans have to commit to the swap before the ping pong balls? I would think they would, but not sure.

Not without a trade with the Lakers to secure those rights. And they would demand a lot to do so.

As far as the timing of the swap goes, it is after the lottery. That is why the Celtics got so many high picks from the Garnett trade.

We will finish in front of the Lakers, but not by a lot.

We get the better of the two picks, it’s not a choice.

We already have the rights to their 2024 pick if we want it.

Lakers aren’t making the playoffs.

Finish in the playoffs while LA Lakers miss is all I care about.

Narrator: they did not. In fact, the Lakers made the WCF while the Pelicans missed the playoffs by losing at home to the 10 seed. And scene.

This is not a give in. Say Lakers miss the playoffs this year and end up with the 13th pick, we have to think long and hard because if we defer we could end up with a pick in the 20’s the next season.

Unless its a very low pick in 2024, there’s no guarantee the 2025 pick will be better.

It's the truth though. You guys arrogant for no reason. We are probably one of the least successful organizations in sports and yet we have some of the dumbest arrogant fans.
