Comes out around the time that we find out that Griffin is now listening to offers from teams.

Hmmmmmmmm

Ask Chris Bosh how his recovery from blood clots is going

Like I mentioned in the thread I started, I think the article title is misleading.

We don't know who McMenamin spoke to over the past few months are or whether they are even still with the team. And while I found Griffin's comments interesting, there doesn't seem to be any actual inside info that he values Ingram more than other assets being offered in other trades

We could potentially even move up a spot and still get a guy like Barrett.

Personally, if we do trade with the Lakers and get #4, i'd stay put and draft Garland or Culver, and roll with:
PG- Garland
SG- Jrue
SF- Ingram
PF- Zion
C- ?

or:

PG- Jrue
SG- Culver
SF- Ingram
PF- Zion
C- ?

also see this as Griffin leaking he loves the Lakers players to make the Knicks, Clippers, and Celtics up their offers. They already know everything that was on the table for AD and if Griff is signaling he is willing to accept it, that is your ground floor for offers.

Griff is on record s loving Ingram as a prospect from his time at NBA radio. He legitimately thinks Ingram has all-nba potential.

completely different situation. And I personally don't like the Lakers offer at all. But that doesn't seem to be a big factor here

What I hate about the Lakers offer is that you are gonna have to pay Ingram after one season. He is a decent scorer, but he has not done anything in the NBA. Give me Tatum and his playoff experience, also his team option in year 2 gives us more time to see what he is.

Yeah, I hate that too. Sounds eerily similar to another key player that we traded our star for

You think that the knicks package is on par with the lakers if the lakers get the 2nd pick???
yes, It really depends what you want. Do you want multiple high value picks, or a better player. Knicks have the #3 plus the unprotected 2021 pick from the Mavs. I love Mitchell Robinson and think he will be one of the best centers in the league in a few years. Like I said it just depends on your preference. You want a guy who’s good but you’ll have to pay max money next year or do you like picks and good prospects.

same as jaylen brown if he's offered in a BOS deal.
its an issue

FYI the max for an RFA coming off a rookie contract is 25% of the cap. the cap for 2020-21 is projected at $116MM. that would result in a first year max salary for either guy of approx 29MM (more than jrue OR davis makes now)

Going into these purgatory rebuild years, there really isn’t that much risk there with a contract. If his 3pt game develops like it should, you at worst have a 6-10 floor stretcher. But he’s more than that as last year showed. He can get to the line, he’s a capable passer, and should only improve in all aspects given that he is still 21. The reward is much greater than the risk.

That being said, the Lakers have the best grouping of secondary pieces.

They know they can re-sign him. Their pot will always be sweet because of it

I mean they were kind of hamstrung into giving Jrue a deal he wasn’t worth, and now apparently is the guy everyone wants to build around

also, he may die from blood clots.

So that could be a small issue

I like the Lakers deal now that 2019 is 4 overall. Also, I would want Ball included in the deal. He could develop into a decent PG. At worst, he is a tradable asset.

100% what I hate about this deal. That and I feel like these guys would be salty about moving from LA to NO. Maybe they ball out as a result? Or maybe they stew privately until they can leave.

One would suspect that Ball would be sent to a different team.

Where are the fits though?

Kuzma plays where? He’s not starting over Zion. Doesn’t strike me as a guy that’ll play 6th man here. He’s also around what I think his ceiling will be. Ingram is not a great fit either, provides very little spacing. The injury problems with he and Lonzo are huge red flags

Do you need McNamara to say he’ll be ok? Then will you believe Bunch?
