Man he's really regressed offensively. Not that he was a juggernaut before but he's so afraid to shoot it's reaching Ben Simmons level.

Did Willie kill this kid's confidence that bad?

We really need to get him to be more aggressive.

He's only just turned 20, so not that worried, but we're wasting valuable time where he could be honing his skills.

His development is just another of the more disappointing aspects of this season.

I don't like tall PGs. They are always so conflicted in their games and where they fit. Kid has great instints and the frame to be a superior defensive wing. He's similar to Lonzo, just not as instinctual as a passer. Just a huge project. I don't mind that, it's just going to take time and no sure thing he ever becomes solid (Dante Exum)..

Not at all, I can name 10 other things I'm more disappointed with this season before getting to Dyson. Herb and Jose (two extreme, almost statistically impossible outliers) spoiled us last season.

To me, even early in the season on the few drives he had , attacking the rim or shooting was an afterthought . The difference was he was knocking down some spot up 3s.

Now he doesn’t even acknowledge the basket. Can’t blame Willie imo for his lack of confidence . In the most recent lakers game he airballed a fast break finger roll/layup . His offensive game was already limited despite his great feel but it’s bn his ears at this point .

We have a bunch of picks who haven’t developed outside of Trey. Dyson, Kira, Herb (same as when he was drafted if not a little worse), Jax, NAW. We don’t develop talent which is odd because we’re trying to build through the draft.

This just isn't true. The Pels have 9 players that average 9.0 ppg or more, not many NBA rosters can give you that.

I think the picks we've made have developed, but when you build a roster around 2 injury riddled superstars it's hard for role players to play their roles.

He's attempted 22 shots in 134 minutes since coming back from injury. Like you said I don't want to be to worried, but it is mildly concerning.

I don't know why you are being downvoted for this.

It is a real and disturbing trend of this regime.

Most acute on the offensive side of the ball. We basically have not really meaningfully expanded the game of any of our draft picks that weren't already sort of self-sufficient in growing their offense(SEE: Trey).

I'm sure they are nice guys, but if I were Giff I would be looking to upgrade Corey Brewer, Ryan Frazier, and Darnell Lazare, our three player development coaches. Strongly consider replacing Jaron Collins and Casey Hill with more offensive-minded and innovative coaches too. And the FO needs to stop thinking they can ignore offense in the draft/FA and not pay a price in the most offensive driven era in league history.

Of which none are jax, Kira, Dyson, and Herb is essentially averaging what he averaged last year. Not much development.

If we cant draft and develop talent we arent going anywhere as a small market. Jax Naw and kira were busts. Trey and herb look good. Dyson has to hit or else we need to tear down our player development and build it from the ground up. You cant miss on 2 top 10 picks in 4 years as a small market. Thats disastrous.

Really hard to tell with Kira. Willie Green doesn’t play him. When Dyson Daniels messes up, he doesn’t play him either. Can’t really boost these guys confidence when they’re on a short leash and barely get any playing time

Jax - we know who he is at this point. It’s up to him to decide whether he wants to play up to his ability. He’s shown flashes this season.

Kira - coming off an ACL injury, what do expect from him at this point?

Dyson - a rookie. He’s definitely regressed some but I have a feeling he’ll figure it out.

If you don’t see Herbs development, then I don’t know what games you’re watching. He’s a second year, 2nd round pick and he impacts the game more than some lottery picks in his same draft.

Kira wasnt exactly tearing it up before he got injured. He's at best a backup PG in the league.

Herb i dont see him doing anything different than last year. In fact he's shooting worse. He came in as a ready made prospect so i wouldnt say they have developed him

We need to poach scouts/development coaches from Lakers, Grizzlies and Thunders.

Thunder have done such a good job drafting and developing. Obviously the Grizzlies too.

In the words of Coach Springsteen...Dyson is currently, for whatever reason..."like a dog that's been beat too much... til he spends half his life just coverin' up".

At the moment, Dyson is just kinda tippy-toein' around on the court with his head down & his tail between his legs...trying to stay outta everybody's way.

Reason why? Who knows, but it COULD go all the way back to those 2 missed free throws vs the Lakers...or probably, more likely, a combination of things. The human mind is a funny thing...when it comes down to things like self-confidence. This is why it's very important for Coaches to understand this type stuff...and to learn the best way to deal with each individual player. I'm optimistic Dyson will come around...just probably be next year...before we see it begin.

The weird thing is its gotten worse as the season went on. He had a near triple double against the raptors earlier in the season and looked fantastic and untouchable at the deadline and that was after the missed free throws against the lakers. I saw a stat that he has only scored like 23 points since january 23rd. What happened?

If Coach Freud was around, he could probably get to the bottom of it...but he's currently unavailable. I'd guess one thing started the "descent" but it's probably a gradual fall due to many small incidents. He'll climb his way back out...just will probably be a gradual process as the light switch just won't suddenly flip back on...
