This was why Woj left. This was obviously in the works, and Woj didn't want to play second fiddle or compete the way Mort did when they brought on Schefter.

I think it’s a young man’s game. Woj made his money and didn’t want the headache anymore. I respect that. Those dudes are tethered to their phone 20 hours a day. frick that especially if I’ve got $30M in the bank.

How are you an insider when you are labeled the point person to ESPN. It is basically like they are saying NBA this is our NBA media contact.

How about the fact that the top newsbreaker in the NBA was working for what was basically the New York Times sports department. Way too small a platform for a guy with his chops. ESPN has a history of pursuing the top newsbreakers in a particular sport.
