That lineup wouldn’t be able to rebound at all, for one thing.

Who needs rebounding when all the shots go in

Trey Z and Herb are not pluses at it, but that's a focus and role thing. They'll suffice. When we're suffocating teams both ways with that lineup we'll be fine with a slight lack of rebounding.

But this is starter/top 5 mpg money. You can't be a bench player making 13M+ a year.

You're about 10 years behind on your NBA economics.

Is the other team not playing offense?

The Warriors had Steph Curry and a defensive POTY player to make that work. They’re an anomaly.

For us to pull a lineup like that regularly, we need to go up tempo and play at a high pace to play opposing teams bigs off the floor. Gotta dictate and control pace for it to work.

Brother, I’m a huge fan of them both, but Zion and Herb are not Steph and Draymond.

I hope Borrego changes this. I feel like high pace is the way to go with that lineup.

I see what you did here.
Brandon Ingram twice in the starting line-up.

Where is Murphy? We are going to give him 20M+ next offseason. But he's not going to be starting or finishing?

I'm not saying we did anything wrong or that we shouldn't have extended Jones. I'm just not seeing a way forward with what we have right now. Players are going to get frustrated at not playing featured roles and out of position. It's not working now and it's not sustainable in the long term..

The way forward is trading CJ in a year or 2 to avoid the tax and/or at least the repeater tax.

Never know w Zion either. He could be traded as well if the next season goes anything like the last 4 overall.

I don’t think paying Herb $13M really put us in danger or at any type of crossroads tbh.

We basically have a year to figure it out w CJ, Ingram and Zion. Nance is also another contract that we can get rid of if necessary. Then we move forward from there.

We are probably in a better financial situation than 80% of the league right now and we can easily avoid the tax this season.

But I'm not. Contracts are going up. But 13M+ still puts in the top 150 in the league (would have been top 100 last season). There are only 150 starting spots. There are a lot of minimum players and rookies making less that are starting. But it's not a small sum or a journeyman rate. It's going to be top 5-6 on our team for the foreseeable future..

I don't believe that either. I'm cool with him getting his money. I am just unsure about committing to him long term.

I don't see how we balance Ingram, Jones, and Murphy (not including Daniels, who is the same thing). We can't play 3 of them together full-time. Someone is coming off the bench and getting limited minutes. I really don't like playing any of them full-time at SG. It's cool in spurts, but I don't think it's the best fit.

It's just roster imbalance IMO that needs to be addressed eventually..

That’s because the salaries shift every year. The MLE is by definition pegged to League average salary, or current year’s salary cap average is probably more accurate. It literally is designed to be the pay of the average player.

Strus is about to get paid 16m to ride cleveland’s bench and Herb is 100x the player he is.

Not to mention if the pels send any starter to be 6th man for Trey’s starting spot it should be CJ.

Do not disagree.

Bi
Trey
Herb
Zion
Jonas (or whoever we might trade him for bc tax shite)

Thats a nasty 5 right there with a shite ton of length. Send CJ Larry and Jose off the bench first.

Slow team with limited athleticism. Teams will run that squad off the court.
