Just looked at January's schedule...holy crap, pretty much every game is against some one over .500, going to be make or break for the pels next month

14 of our 20 games from 1/3 to 2/12 are away as well

Used to think home games mattered for this team. Turns out they're just as bad at home as they are on the road.

We're currently in the midst of an 11 game stretch starting after the Lakers IST loss where we'll be favored in all 11 games, with 7 of those being home games.
The January schedule is why it was so important to take care of business and win at least 9 of these games. 9-2 sounds tough, but when you realize we're scheduled in all 11 of them, it was certainly doable.
Instead, we keep blowing leads and losing to lesser teams and are now 5-3 in this 11 game stretch.
We were 12-11 at the start of this stretch so going, say, 9-2 would put us at 21-13. This would have given us a bit of a buffer for the January gauntlet so even if we go 7-8 or even a bad month like 6-9, we'd still be 27-22 and in decent shape going forward.
We're another loss or 2 from losing that buffer, and having a rough January month could see us dip below .500 heading into February.
Good teams don't lose games like we lose to bad teams.

Full list of NBA teams who do NOT have a winning record vs sub .500 teams:
Charlotte
Washington
Detroit
Memphis
Portland
San Antonio
New Orleans
1 of those is not like the others...

We fricking suck. Doesn’t matter who we play. They will be fighting for a play in game. Nothing will change until Willie is fired. All the talent on the roster is being wasted.

We play better against better teams so this is good IMO.

The Pelicans currently has 17 wins. They did not win all 17 against over .500 teams.
