Also, nobody ever said the trade was coming soon. The comment was that one deal was very close. As in - the two teams were close on parameters. And they still are, but this aint the NBA trade machine where you just press a button and the deal is done.
Calm down, people. January 8th will be here very soon. The deals (or lack of deals) will be done by then and then we can wait for the Boston deal to become official

Maker and Jason Smith's expiring contract for Randle? Can't happen until the 6th - but I'd do that.

Is it possible Jrue is on the block as well? I remembered it being reported, when the news broke about AD. That he only resigned back in NOLA because AD promised he wasn't going anywhere. Is it possible they do right by jrue and ship him out to a contender? Then making ad wait until the summer, while shutting him down for the rest of they year, to give him one last frick you?

What contender could afford him without giving us the pieces that made them a contender though? He makes 25 mil/year and we aren't gonna give him up for 25 mil in spare parts

You take picks and bad players on expirings. I think it could be done. Why not ship out jrue, to a team contending for the playoffs, instead of doing it for AD because he requested it. That would be a major slap in the face to AD, if the right trade presents itself that is.

Jrue is on a long term deal that expensive but not overly so. The only way he'd get moved is if the Pelicans are going full Process and want to compete for top 3/5 picks for the next several years. They aren't gonna do that.
