I'm not even talking about how screwed they are with picks. I mean just from a talent standpoint.

Russell
Edwards
McDaniel
Vanderbilt
Towns

Bench

Beverly
Reid
Beasley

vs

Conley
Edwards
McDaniel
Towns
Gobert

Bench
Reid
McLaughlin (who?)
NAW

I left off Anderson because I think they could have added him either way.

I'm taking last year's team every time. Better depth, shooting, grit, etc.

What a shitty trade. Not even counting the picks. I'd rather Vanderbilt, Russell and Beasley than Gobert.

That's the risk of going all in (aka full retard). I hope Griff makes a smarter decision when he decides (if he decides) to push his chips in.

My guess is most people would take last season’s roster. Hindsight is 20/20, but there is a reason people were shocked by that trade.

Gobert has always been a divisive player, so paying a ton was just weird both in cost and fit. Doubling down to get rid of Russell for Conley and NAW is basically them trying to salvage some value on a guy they weren’t going to resign, and likely praying that Conley can help the Gobert disaster.

Gobert is not the guy that you give up the farm for. They should have gone after Mitchell instead.

Kessler would go on your first team too.

Russell had to go based on what we heard about him. He was cancerous and was trying to turn the lockerroom against Gobert. Minnesota has a lot of young guys so it's probably not a good idea to keep him even if they had to trade for lesser players.

Even though he aren't as talented as before, the play is more cohesive.

sometimes the same combinations only get you so far.

you can keep running back the same crap and you'll get the same results.

It was fine taking a risk when your team has been stuck, but all of that for Gobert was just stupid.

And to think a few people on here argued with me that he was the better player on Utah over spyder.
