BREAKING: The 76ers dismissed coach Doc Rivers on Tuesday, sources tell ESPN. Rivers led the Sixers to the Eastern Conference Semifinals in each of his three seasons on the job.

Expected it. The only way to keep Harden. They're on theor last leg before the end of the process era.

Solid regular season coach, all-time choker in the playoffs.

We have to win a series for Willie to stay imo. Making the playoffs isn't good enough.

What if the reason we miss the playoffs is due to Zion and Ingram missing a shitload of games again?

I get Willie isn’t perfect, but he’s dealt with an impossible situation for 2 straight years now, all while having to learn on the job as well.

Sure, there's exceptions to everything. But I don't see Willie staying on if he can't get through to Zion to get him in the right mindset to have him ready to stay in shape and play ball for 65-70 games. There's got to be a fricking coach somewhere that can.

I mean that's fine but you'll be hard-pressed to find a replacement that's better and would want to come here if our two stars miss significant games again. Good coaches won't be lining up to go to a team where their stars are unreliable to play and it would used against them after every season they don't make progeess.

To me, his name is better than his coaching ability. I’m mainly talking about in the playoffs.

While I agree, that's an impossible situation it's the reality.

Also, he has enough talent to not have a 10 game losing streak.

That's 100% on coaching.

Every once in awhile the onus should be placed on the players. He can’t be with Zion every waking moment of the day and controlling his dietary/rehab/exercise decisions.

I don’t think Willie has been given a fair shot here. He without doubt, overachieved in year one.

Year 2 was marred by injuries and the team lost their collective spirit and fight. You can definitely nitpick rotations and lack of Jonas usage in certain matchups and all of that. But I don’t think anything he has done or not done is close to firable.

If we are firing someone, it’s got to be Griffin for all of his weird trades and mostly terrible relationship w Zion and his family.

I feel like we’d be the joke of the league if we fired Willie Green after 2 or 3 years that were simply just marred with key injuries.

Well, also year 0, 1, and soon to be 3, 4, and 5… but go on.

Anybody know anything about Monty, Bud and Doc’s assistants? Anybody we could potentially poach if one of them takes some time off?

Sam Cassell and Charles Lee are some of the assistants but they’re linked to head coaching jobs.

Cassell probably is Philly’s next head coach

Charles Lee is most likely Detroit Pistons’ next head coach
