They give up a ton of expiring contracts along with a decent young center and get basically nothing in return.

Lets just find a way to acquire Randolph and Bass from Orlando, then someone needs to find Tac Minor and drag him outta the dumpster for a solid lane-busting backup pg for Collison.

We can probably get Darrel Mitchell from Belgium on the cheap to be our clutch shooter and get Temple from the Spurs(or whoever he is with now) to be our Defensive specialist.

none of those are realistic

I don't really like any of those 3 trades.
We get 39 million in expirings in the first trade and we get 35 million in expirings with the second one plus Peja and Juju's expiring puts us in a great cap position in 2011 but we would have to overpay for anyone(ie Peja and Posey)...so frick that.
The third one is the best because it gives us 31 million in expirings and a decent team next year.

they aren't serious trades, he is just stirring things up

Webber is saying that big roster moves are imminent. I'm very interested in what he plans on doing.
Gotta be something major If he thinks this is what will keep CP3.

He averaged 11/9 and 2.3 blocks in only 24 minutes per. And shot over 60%.
Plus with all the weapons Portland has, they run almost no offense for him.
In NOLA, he'd get at least 34 minutes. He could be somehwere around 15/11 3 blocks
Obviously the injuries are a concern though. But i'd definately trust Monty's opinion of the guy with him having coached him.

Popovich saying great things about Dell Demps:
quote:
Popovich praised Weber's hiring as a "master stroke."
"He's been involved in everything with our team and has done the whole package,'' Popovich said. "He has sat in our coaching and film sessions. He understands and will be inclusive, will share opinions, ask for advice, will be participatory and make it fun -- at the same time he does a great job.'' LINK

Or we can just cut out the middle men and go Paul for Roy straight up like people have been talking about for a while now.

I wonder what moves Demps is going to make to keep CP3. I hope to God, we don't cripple our team like Cleveland did.

CP is a little better than Roy, but no way would I do that trade if I'm Portland given the poonish behavior of Paul, and I think a Portland team without Roy still makes Paul unhappy and unlikely to stick around in 2 years.

quote:He is. But i think Roy+Collison is better than Paul+Collison. So it still ends up being a net + for us, imo
CP is a little better than Roy,
Paul and Collison just cant play any real minutes on the floor together. We get killed on defense.
quote:Probably, but we dont care. If that trade ever becomes a possiblity, DO IT

We have to get rid of Emeka or Posey if we are going to trade CP3, especially Emeka.
