The marketing stinks even in New Orleans. I went to French Quarter Festival on Sunday and noticed less than five people in Pels gear on a playoff game day. I had a t-shirt and only one person commented.
ETA: If it had been a Saints playoff game then you'd see Saints gear everywhere.

I’m a huge fan up here in West Monroe!

Somebody mentioned last night that Joel, Antonio, Jen, etc... dont have contracts for next year.
The team better not screw that up because i'm gonna be highly pissed if we end up with another crew next year. They've great at their jobs and great allies for the team and city. We better not bring not in some lames to call games just as the team gets good.

I agree, they are great and have set roots in their coverage over the years, I do not want them to leave

That means they'll be free to move over to NBC Sports.

Then that might be the exit ramp for Jen. She’s got big Fox for NFL and hosts Undisputed every morning with Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe. Erin Summers probably getting promoted.

I'm born & raised in NOLA but now live in Alexandria (CenLA)
We do get Pelicans radio on the ESPN station on the big radio broadcaster in the region... which is nice... but the games can get easily moved in favor of something like TNF or something like that
The apartment complex I live in force us to use a small telecom company that gets TV service from DISH Network
Right as I moved into the complex... DISH got into a contract dispute with all the local sports channels (like Fox Sports New Orleans... which was the name at the time) and they were shortly removed from the line-up
So for me... I can't watch any non-nationally televised Pelicans games... including games on NBATV b/c I fall in the blackout area
And all the bars & restaurants that I've gone to have DISH too... so they can't get it either... so I'm SOL trying to watch Pelicans games

Will happen when there's a team good enough to drive a distance to watch- we're there!

TV viewing access has been an issue since 2002. I remember it took like 6 years to get Pelicans games on the Northshore.

I've been fighting bootlegs and bullshite since YouTube TV and Hulu lost bally. Got Cox just to watch the Pels at my bar. 4 months and 5 techs + hours on the phone it still doesn't come through (we pay for it). God doesn't want me to watch the Pels but I still do. Pels in 6 ???

I live in Baton Rouge. One hardly ever hears about the Pels in BR.
I became a season ticket holder after the Portland sweep playoff year. That success brought some short term attention to the team in BR. I have remained a season ticket holder over the past several very tumultuous and often hard to watch years. The Pels are still not really marketed well in BR, but there is some minor increase in attention due to their post season success this year.
I hope that the team uses this season's success to make a concerted effort to do state and regional marketing. There are some great building blocks for sustainable success including the head coach, a young talented roster, really good veterans, two stars (Brandon and CJ), a high draft pick this year, and an owner who loves the city and wants a winner! Even though it feels like we are waiting for Godot, there is the promise of Zion (or assets from a future Zion deal) positively affecting the franchise.
Barring injuries or Griffin screwing things up, the Pels would appear to have a bright future!!

I think this is completely false.
I can't speak for Sunday, but I was at FQF friday and I was shocked at the amount of Pels gear. Everywhere.
This city is nuts for the team right now.

I was there Sunday & saw a ton of Pels gear

That small note aside, the Pels DO desperately need to do something about the TV situation and I think it will definitely be addressed this offseason.

North LA here. For the last two years I’ve had to watch illegal streams every game. Went the YouTube TV route until they no longer broadcast games in my area. It sucks to have to occasionally listen to the opponent’s broadcast but the price is nice.
Side note when they delayed the start Friday the only stream I could find was the Suns broadcast. Screw those crybaby MFERs.

I hope they already fired who was responsible for that. Tom Benson was rolling over in his grave on the money they lost out on that exposure.

Sinclair/Ballys has been a disaster for dozens of NBA and NHL teams. The situation is basically leading to MLB/NHL and NBA developing possible league streaming deals.
Pels will be on NBC Sports next year I am almost certain.

I think you’ll see an overhaul on the marketing team for the Pels as well to see less overlap with the Saints.
The Pels are Gayle’s baby. She’s willing to spend the $$$ to see them successful now that it appears they’re returning some of the investment she put in
