The Pelicans have acquired Saddiq Bey, Jordan Poole and the draft rights to Micah Peavy from Washington in exchange for CJ McCollum, Kelly Olynyk and a future second round pick. Additionally, New Orleans has traded the draft rights of Mojave King to the Houston Rockets.

I know it had to be done but I really hate losing both those guys but CJ especially. There is no better role model in the NBA to show young players what it truly takes to play in this league. I was excited to see what Kelly could do with a healthy Zion, Trey, Herb and Dejounte but we will never know. He could have been the stretch 5 that you could run pick and rolls with Zion and having Olynyk, CJ, Trey and Herb/Dejounte to pass to. CJ was a true good man and a really damn good player. The way he takes care of his body I bet he has another 3-4 years of the level of play you expect from him. Surely Washington will move both CJ and Kelly midseason for draft picks to add to their war chest m. Hopefully CJ goes somewhere he can get a ring. I think he’d be a solid fit to any playoff team but Denver seems to be a good fit. I hope he gets that ring before hanging it up, he deserves it. Thanks for everything CJ!

Why trade the rights to King to Houston for nothing?
This front office is absolutely retarded

In multiple-team trades, you don’t always get a return directly from the team you’re sending an asset to.

Multi team trades are supposed to have every team “touch” with an asset moving, real or not.
The most popular “fake” assets for this are draft rights for someone who will never sign or a top 55 protected 2nd.

Correct, but in those cases you do some sort of fake 2nd.
