Nets get Jrue

Bulls get #19 and LeVert

Pels get Prince, Thad Young, #4, and Nets 21 1st.

Does LeVert have that much value?

We're going to trade the league MVP? Seriously, there's no question that Griffin made it clear to Jrue that he needed to step up and be the vocal leader of the team, and Jrue failed at that, because he isn't that guy.

But we need to get a leader who will hold others accountable. So, Jrue needs to go, as he is the best asset that we have available to get that guy.

I really don't think that it's more complicated than that. The SVG hire is all about developing a culture, and Jrue can't help accomplish that.

A fearless perimeter guy who just did it on the biggest stage as a rookie isn’t at least appealing to you?

I read fearless and I see volume shot taker who can shoot but not do much else

Dude is not Devin booker

Marcus Thornton type, yea. Reminds me of Rudy Fernandez

I think he’s more of a 6th nan type when the dust settles. And that’s fine. But Jrue has some more things going for him

What would a Boston trade look like?

Obviously they aren't giving up Tatum, and i have a really hard time believing they'd give up Jaylen Brown, but that's who i would want from them.

Jrue and #13 for Jaylen and #26.

Celtics could then use #13
& #14 to try to move up to something like #7 to Detroit
I doubt they'd give up Brown though.

I would imagine they would want to center their trade around getting Jrue and giving up Smart and all their picks, or Kemba and a pick.

Problem is Boston doesn't have the salaries to make a Jrue for Smart trade work. They'd have to include Hayward.
Jrue/Miller for Hayward/Smart/#14/#26/21 1st
I think Smart is the vocal leader we're looking for, and his defense is just as good as Jrue's. That deal would have us absorbing $15M in salary, so not sure it's possible, but i'm sure we could execute some S&T with Etwaun or Favors with some 2nds to facilitate it.
We could then package some of the firsts to move up in the draft if we wanted to. I"m sure Detroit would be willing to take two firsts to move back a few spots from #7. I'd also have no problem making picks at #13 and #14, and i'd probably rather that.

Also a simple Kemba and #14/#26 for Jrue would work for both teams, although i do'nt want Kemba's contract.

I tend to agree that Herro is very overrated given Miami and their culture, but he is a good player.

He's the best fitting young talent that's realistically available, agreed.

I agree. I think Herro is a fine, but flawed player. I don’t see him as a Donovan Mitchell type of player in the future as some others tend to view him. We cannot cover for him on defense. He played great in Miami this year and stepped up for the playoffs, but we are not Miami.

A deal with Boston would include a 3rd team taking on Hayward. Chicago has a need for a wing, and Hayward would make great sense there.

Chicago: Hayward, #13, #14

Boston: Jrue, Thad Young

Pels: #4, #30 Wendell Carter, Satoransky

That would be a deal for all sides to walk away happy, Boston keeps a late 1st for a prospect that falls.

Has Hayward recovered enough to be the centerpiece of a deal for #4?

From the rundown for a Los Angeles sports radio show:

I get that their fan base is delusional, but they do realize that they already gave us all of their stuff, right?

Hayward does not have anywhere near that value first off.

Secondly, the salary situation in your proposal is terrible for the celtics.
The Bulls have $106M in salaries with 12 players already, add another #6M for #4 and they are over the cap. Not really that big of a deal, but it makes no sense for them to trade #4 and Wendell Carter for #13/#14 and Hayward. Hayward simply isn't worth that to them at all, as he isn't that good anymore, and the likelihood of him resigning there is close to zero.

The Celtics definitely don't want to take on more salaries, which they'd take on $4M more in this. They are already a tax team without that deal. They want to go the other direction. Send Thad to the Pels and that helps the Celtics.

and Boston isnt giving up enough to get Jrue. Jrue is worth more than Hayward (who is basically a salary filler and has very few positives for any young team on the court b/c he isnt' resigning there) and #14/#30. Smart needs to go out too, and to us.

I don't see a world where the Bulls would come close to doing that trade, even if you took Wendell Carter out of it they still wouldn't do it.

It is, but even if it’s just Heat propaganda, it says they expect a lot in return for Herro. It’s one of those situations where they probably value him more than the market does which says he won’t be traded.

Yes he has, he had a slight injury in the bubble, but he's been fine, you just haven't heard much about him because that team has Walker, Tatum and Brown.

Hayward with 2 lottery picks would be plenty for Chicago to move back. Remember, this is a weak draft. It will not cost as much as in years past to move up/down.

Miller doesn't have to go out in that deal, that's just excess salary for no reason. but yes that's a good trade also.
