No one is attached to him. But it was actively reported by Woj and Shams we had discussions for Scoot. It was reported by Shams that we had a visit with Scoot and his agent literally a day before the draft- a prospect and his agent don’t do that unless they feel they may be traded there. So you can go ahead and assume Shams made that all up but they were talks of us trading for him and it never panned out. I thought it was just interesting how his preseason hasn’t been that great.

Honestly, I could refute all these points but its better I just keep it this way. I don’t agree completely with how you view preseason. You make some valid points but that doesn’t mean the negatives we saw from this preseason was part of the game plan. They could be or they could not. I personally dont believe they are. Thats my fundamental difference in your argument. Players not caring or not performing well in a new system to me can be a cause of concern in the preseason. If you don’t feel so thats fine. I just don’t know why your so adamant in trying to convince me to view preseason in the way you view it. Honestly, unless your on the team or staff we have no idea how they’re approaching this preseason. Maybe you’re right but maybe you’re not. I think my aggravation is this force to make fans view preseason in the way you view it. Its like you have some inside source stating this is how they’re approaching preseason- if you don’t then I think my view of preseason can be just as valid as yours.

We both have points we can point to whether its serious or not. So either of us could be right. That griff offer was based on picks was media leak released after the trade didn’t go down and Scoot meeting with Pels was before Scoot was even picked. Both leaks by reputable sources. So who knows. Regardless, it didn’t happen but from my perspective it’ll be interesting to see how Scoot develops in his career.

It’s not a force tho. It’s just an understanding that the top NBA players aren’t going to give 100% in preseason. They already have NBA guys that take off games in the middle of the weak and you expect them to give 100% in preseason?
The players giving 100% in preseason are the ones looking for an opportunity or working on specific skills from coaches. So Dyson/ Hawkins shooting and Zion conditioning. Every other teams goal is to escape preseason without injury. Also you don’t show your best plays in preseason it’s just a common understanding.
The rockets have like 13 players that are 1-3 years in the NBA so yeah all their players will give 100% in preseason. We already had the post stating that preseason records do not directly translate to regular season records.

I dont agree with you. We haven’t done anything to not care about giving effort in any competitive game preseason or not. Its also about culture and setting a tone. Similar to what Zion did in the first half last game. You keep trying to state what NBA preseason is and what it should it mean to fans. I disagree and so do others as we have seen in previous posts and threads. Which is ok. Your common understanding is just basic assumptions made by you, assuming what this team is doing. Again, unless you are on the team or coaching staff you have no knowledge of that. If you don’t want to react to anything in preseason thats ok but I don’t understand why it bothers you when others do. Just let it be. We’ll see if the problems in preseason play out in regular season or not.

No you been arguing with people who make opinions on preseason and voice their concerns. You could have easily said lets see what happens. Its ok if preseason concerns some people and its ok if it doesn’t concern others. But no need to continuously tell people that are concerned it doesn’t matter, and make assumptions on how the team is specifically preparing for preseason games when we don’t know. I think thats the sticking point- your preseason argument relies upon the point that you exactly know what Pels are doing in preseason and its common knowledge how they prepare. Regardless, lets see how this plays out next week.

Again why does this topic keep coming up? We never were in serious talks to get him let alone denied a trade. So it’s not even a woulda coulda shoulda. the fact that we met with scoot in New Orleans a few days before the draft seems pretty serious

A few things I've learned over the years.
1) Despite most posters seeming to feel otherwise, getting the last word in doesn't actually win arguments.
2) The viewing audience is not as dumb as you think, make your points clearly and move on, even if the other person doesn't. The people reading these threads will know who has made good points and who is just a blowhard that doesn't know when to shut up.
Seriously y'all, if 2 people are going at it for more than half a page, there's a 99% chance that you BOTH are derailing a thread with arguments that nobody cares about.

I’m just ready for the season to start man.
I don’t care about the last word and I’m really not trying to argue with people everyday on here. Most of the “arguments” I have are me explaining something and then someone having a strong feeling against it. And then me trying to explain that point more in depth. The attempt is not to “argue” it’s to conversate and find middle ground.
Unfortunately we have stubborn posters that struggle to find that middle ground. I’m stubborn in the same way of repeating myself 10x instead of shutting the frick up and realizing some people don’t want to find middle ground.
Just sick of preseason threads and the extreme doom or gloom.
