That needs to be closer to 60/40.

For comparison;

Trey Murphy shot 71% 3s, McCollum shot 53% 3s, Herb Jones 46% 3s, Dejounte Murray 38% 3s.

BI isn't Trey, or CJ, or Herb, nor does he play anything resembling a similar role as them. If he did, then he wouldn't be in the discussion for making near max money.

40% isn't a realistic number for him.

Now playing with Murray as the PG should allow BI to get better shots, and be more of an elite role player. He's not goign to be just a C&S 3 point guy like Trey or CJ b/c he's a much better scorer than they are.

I'd like to see 33-36% of his shots being 3's, and i'd like to see more shots at the rim than last year.

Also, just so happens his only year as an Allstar (Year 1 with Pels) he took the most 3s of his career.

You didn't want to mention what percentage of his shots were 3's that year?

35%. He took 6.2 3PA and it was 35% of his shot attempts.

That same year he took 25% of his shots at the rim.
He was at 15% this past year.

His 3's and his rim attempts need to go up.

His 16-3P attempts is what needs to go down.
That area of the court needs to go down to 10%, not 18% or higher like it's been the last 3 years. Those are the dumbest shots in basketball.
Taking a pull up mid range shot from the FT line is a good shot imo, and BI is one of the best in the league at it from that distance. Taking pretty much any shot from 3' in front of the 3 point line is a stupid shot that should only be taken as a last resort.

BI has never been good from 3'-10' and 16'-3P.
The 10'-16' has always been his bread and butter.
It's ok if he takes 35% of his shots from the mid range, as long as the majority are in that FT line area.
If he's around 35% 3's, 25% at the rim, and 35% FT line mid range, then that's a good mix for him.

Jaylen Brown to me is what BI needs to be on offense as a secondary player.
Jaylen is usually around 35% from 3 (33% this past year), but the huge difference is he's never in his career had more than 9% of his shot attempts come from 16'-3P. BI is taking twice as many shots as Jaylen is from that area, the worst shot in basketball.
Jaylen is taking around 25% of his shot attempts at the rim, about 10% higher than BI the last 3 years.

Yeah, he’s never shot 40% of his shots from 3 in his career, but he needs to get back to the 35% that he was in 19-20 and 20-21.

Since then he’s dropped to 23,19 and 23% in the 3 years since, which is absolutely ridiculous.

Jaylen Brown is a great comp for what BI should try to become. That's probably the best way to tell him to adjust his game without pushing him off the idea that he's being demoted. Adjust to Jaylen Brown type game and you can have the ball some, but also adapt to the percentage game of 3's and short range shots, not a bunch of middies.

At the point what is the likelihood of BI being on the team on opening day 50/50?

Best case is he takes the Andre Igoudala/Manu Ginobli route and is ok being a super sub.

The Warriors dynasty started when they convinced All-Star Andre Igoudala to take a 6th man role in order to start a 3rd year player in Harrison Barnes. Andrew Bogut also took a reduced role even though he was an All-NBA center and made all defense that year. Both players were on max contracts and still playing at a high level but did what was best for the team. It set the stage for the most unselfish team the NBA had seen in years.

Igoudala and Bogut were every bit as individually successful as Ingram and McCollum in their careers, yet people act like it is insane and offensive to ask Ingram and McCollum to take similar actions.

I totally think BI should be 6th man, the only problem with that is it likely hurts his value for a trade mid season.

But for a straight objective of winning next year, I absolutely bring him off the bench.

Is this not a stacked roster if the lack of Bigs isn’t considered? One solid arse rebounder / defensive big and we winning it all.

1. Murray
2. Herb
3. Trey
4. Zion
5. Random Center
6. BI
7. CJ
8. Missi
9. Hawk
10. Jose
