The Bucks are a frickin disaster and might be willing to make some moves. Giannis might not be gettable as he’d have to sign off on being here. We’d also have to outbid teams with far more assets (due to Griff wasting most of our war chest).

My target. Brook MF’n Lopez. Splash Mountain. 3 and D. He’s in the 2nd year of a deal that pays him $24M. He’d also likely sign off on being here bc A) He’s Brook Lopez and B) Robin played here.

CJ for Brook Lopez and Pat Connaughton seems to work financially if this were to be a 2 team deal.

The Bucks would get a 3rd scorer in the trade and reunite Dame and CJ. If the Bucks are in fact trying to blow everything up, we could make it a 3-4 team trade with a quasi contender picking up CJ. The Pels would get a rotational big man to split mins w Missi. We’d also get Pat C, who is a nice piece to space the floor.

We’d also get off a year of CJ.

New Squad

D Murray
Herb Jones
Brandon Ingram
Zion
Brook Lopez

Bench
Jose
Hawk/BB Jr
Pat C/Javonte Green
Trey M
Missi

I know none of this shite matters unless Zion gives a shite and we stop getting voodoo injury luck, but you have to admit this is a solid 12 man rotation (that gives us a little cushion for 2-3 injuries at a time).

I'll never understand why this board wants to get away from CJ.

Assuming a mostly healthy roster, we don’t necessarily need an undersized scorer/ minus defender. I think he can be a great piece in many regular season games, but it’s been proven that he doesn’t help us much in a play in/play off type situation.

It would give us some room to extend BI and Trey as well. It’s more about balancing the roster and the books than hating CJ.

We are ultimately going to need more than Missi as a rotational big man if we are going to do anything this season. Brook Lopez is a rare, attainable big man that could help our situation this season, without negatively impacting our finances in the long term.

Brook Lopez being on the team would not make the 7 injured players healthy.

I’m open to other ideas.

However, We need a 2nd big now (not in 40 games at the deadline). We also need financial space for next year. This solves both issues.

This isn’t the best trade in history, but it’s at least somewhat realistic. And a decent version of Brook provides rim protection and 3 point shooting. As well as solid vet leadership.

Obviously, it would need to be accompanied with some better health on the roster as well.

I missed that. At this point though, not even factoring in I don't really want Lopez, I don't really want anything taking away minutes from Missi unless we start to see him regress instead of continuing to get better.

I would prefer:
Trade Zion, McCollum, Theis, and the 2025 bucks pick for Giannis and Lopez

PG: Murray/Alvarado
SG: Jones/Hawkins
SF: Ingram/Murphy/Green
PF: Giannis/Murphy/Green
C: Lopez/Missi

Giannis > Zion and instantly becomes the ideal surrounding cast for Giannis. Guys who can defend (Jones, Murray), guys who can take off the offensive load and space (Ingram, Hawkins, and Murphy), a true facilitator (Murray), and a bunch of scrappy dudes to do the dirty work (Green, Alvarado)

Because he’s in mid 30s, not good at defense, and we don’t really need his scoring anymore. People were shitting all over BI during the playoffs last year, which he deserved, but CJ shot 40% from the field and 24% from 3 while also getting picked on a ton on defense. I honestly don’t know what his role is when everyone is healthy, and he’s our 3rd highest paid player.

Love the trade. Lopez will be a free agent and it provides cap flexibility this off season. The team maybe able to buyout a discounted Lopez contract and sign CJ's replacement, Brandon Boston.

Murray, BI, Trey, Zion, Hawk. I’m not saying CJ is a bad or anything but when everyone’s healthy he’ll won’t be a top 3 option.

CJ is a better scorer and a more consistent 3pt shooter than every single one of those guys.

I like CJ too but I wouldn’t say hes a better scorer than BI or Dejounte.

CJ absolutely is a better scorer than both of them. CJ can get his shot off from anywhere on the court at a high accuracy, BI can’t do that unless a defender allows him to step into his shot

I gotta disagree. BI's handles are not elite by any means, but he can get his shot off against most defenders. We've watched CJ try to dribble his way out of things and it just comes off his foot and out of bounds often enough to lose hair.
