Dallas wouldn't move Luka for AD, and if they did, why would AD wanna stay there? That ain't happening.

Or, and one small request - When people postulate over future rosters, can Randle please not be in that future? I want no part of him. Thanks

When it comes to an AD trade, I consider very very few players to be untouchable, but I think Luka is one of those.

I would prefer the Tatum package. This draft class is so bad outside of the top handful of guys that I don't really want any part of the crapshoot it already is.

Tatum is my top choice but it would have to be more than Tatum and 16th. They would have to include Rozier and maybe Morris or Brown.

I think Rozier, Holiday, Tatum, Mirotic, and Randle with Jackson, Morris, Moore, Miller, and shot blocking big is a playoff roster.

That 9 man rotation looks very underwhelming IMO.

I’m with you here. Really really want to keep Mirotic either way, but I’m good to trade Randle now if we could

but why would Boston trade Hayward?

He's been awful this year, makes 30 mil, and they've got younger guys who can play his role.

Any Davis trade probably happens post NBA draft, wouldn’t it? If that is the case, then Pels would be trading for the players the Celtics pick, not making their own selections.

How do you build a contender with Jordan/Barnes/ad? Lmao. And they aren’t moving doncic. I wouldn’t move doncic either, ad is overrated.

I’m more curious if a team of Holiday, Tatum, Hayward, Mirotic and Randle is really competitive

That team is even worse on defense than what we see now which is how they've been losing games so often. Skip Hayward, take back Smart instead, keep Payton around and add a rim protector. Maybe trade Solo and filler for Whiteside. I'm open to better rim protection options if you can find them of course, but if you just wanted to reload around Tatum/Jrue/Niko/Randle you probably need to add/keep a few defenders like:

Payton/Jackson
Jrue/Moore
Tatum/Smart
Niko/Randle
Whiteside/Okafor

Considering our own pick could be top 10-12 already, I would take Tatum plus the pick.

That’s too many picks in one draft and Tatum can be an all-nba type talent whereas Brown won’t be. We could move Tatum later for that same type of haul of picks if wanted. Tatum also gives us a signature piece, face of the franchise.

I would really push for timelord as a rim protector in any Boston deal too.

You want THAT kid in NOLA?

He'd be out of the league in 20 months

You have to take Tatum in this scenario.

quote:

Payton/Jackson
Jrue/Moore
Tatum/Smart
Niko/Randle
Whiteside/Okafor

I could get behind this line-up. That’s something to build on at least.

I'd rank Simmons, the 2021 Miami pick, and cap space above the Brown and picks scenario. It'd be toss up between that and the Tatum/Hayward or Smart/pick scenario.

Tatum, without hesitation.

Jaylen Brown is an athlete still trying to figure out how to play basketball.

Yes, he’s a Louisiana guy. Get his parents involved in setting him straight. If he acts up, then trade him, not much invested.

Here's some guys that went from 10-20 so some of you can get an idea at what those picks could be, since there would be 3 of them, not including ours which would likely be in there as well, so 4 of them assuming the Brown trade.

Last 5 years, not including 2018:
Allstar level:
Giannis
McCollum
Booker
Donovan Mitchell

Really good players:
Steven Adams
Schroeder
Lavine
TJ Warren
Nurkic
Gary Harris
Myles Turner
Prince
Levert

Good Role players:
Olynk
Tony Snell
Saric
Oubre
Rozier
Sabonis
Maker

Mitchell was in 2017, and here's the others that we'll decide in the near future if they are really good are just role players:
Zach Collins
John Collins
Justin Jackson
Harry Giles
Bam Adebayo
Luke Kennard
Malik Monk

There was only 1 year in the last 5 where there wasn't a true game changer in the teen picks of the draft.

The argument could easily be made that why risk it when you can get Tatum, and i'd have no problem with that trade either.

Bigger question is when can Boston make the trade. Is it after Kyrie resigns?

I believe the technicality is that you can't have 2 players on that kind of contract that Kyrie and AD are on, so rather than when Kyrie resigns, as soon as his current contract ends would make sense. So they wouldn't have to resign him first, it could be one of those "draft day" trades that is actually executed July 1st.

What do you think about Dallas as an "out of nowhere" team that trades for AD?
Chicago is my out of nowhere team. I like their two big men and their pick.

Don't think its crazy to think the hometown angle might convince them that they have a chance to keep him. Plus, their management is just about as desperate as ours.
