I’m glad that CJ did well in 1 of his playoff series in his career. About a 1 in 10 chance he performs like the $33M annual player he’s paid to be. That 1 in 10 was similar to his 3 pt % against OKC in our embarrassing sweep
This all came about because you thought Griffin made a bad trade for CJ. Reality, is you’re literally just hating on CJ for no reason and acting like he’s the only reason we’ve struggled in the playoffs.

The good news is, we are not relying on CJ to be a #1 or even #2. We just made a trade that makes CJ more like your #4 option.
As many people have pointed out, Zion is our best player. Losing him increased everyone's pressure, not just BI. Unfortunately, everyone kind of folded. For as rough a series as BI had, CJ and Trey gave us less. We needed our star, that's what we learned.
In the interim, Griff traded #8 and 2 picks for a legit #2b. I love Dyson and think he has a ton of potential, but this team got better. Now they just need to fill the hole at center. I have not looked into our new cap situation at all, though.

Did people forget that CJ was the reason why Zion matured?

Right now we are only 2.7 million under the cap I think.

You know what Mickey, I decided to do some googling and I just don’t get how that 43% 3 point shooter managed to shoot 7/29 from 3 against OKC (sub 25%). You’d think with Lu Dort guarding BI, surely CJ had an advantageous matchup. Yet he still sucked dick, truly mysterious, I guess SGA or Josh Giddey are just that good on defense

Dude, you need to take a lap. We just got a major upgrade and you're melting.

Agreed and if they move CJ to the bench- our bench becomes a huge weapon. This was a great trade and so was the CJ trade- like I said haven’t been a huge fan of Griffs but these two trades have really been on point and he clearly won both of them.

Major upgrade. Somebody needs to let you fools know that the Thunder, Nuggets, TWolves, and Mavs are ALL better than us. Y’all got some fetishes for complacency. Everyone in here so quick to forgive Griff, it’s actually kinda sad

He’s a career 37% from 3 shooter in the playoffs. One playoff series doesn’t make a player garbage.

Does that include Jonas' hold?

If this playoffs taught you anything it should be that health matters and teams get hot. You've never seen Zion in the playoffs. And if you think he never will be then that's a you thing you can live with.
I'm riding with the Pels always. You're acting like we made a lateral move which is so fricking wild

So we’re grading how teams are ranked before the offseason begins? Nice. I get the frustration but let him finish the trades/free agency.
The reality is you hate CJ and love Dyson and this makes you hate Griff.

This motherfricker got me and Pels_Yaz all copacetic. That's a feat.

If we ship CJ off then I’ll admit I overreacted. If we go into this season with CJ as a starter then we might as well tank because we’re not advancing with him playing a key role. Dude is dogshit and I’m not apologizing to anyone about it

Yes this might be a first haha

Also brother, stop saying we won a trade when there are no results to show for. The Mavs just showed you how to win a trade, trading for Pj and Gafford, that’s a winning trade. Trading for CJ has not been a winning move

Bro our best player has been unavailable the last 3 April's. That's why we haven't done dick in the postseason.
CJ has been incredible in the reg season and you call him a streaky shooter which is a goddamn statistical lie.

Deciding who "won" a trade on the day the trade happened in the middle of the offseason is dumb.
Thinking that Dyson has some latent offensive game buried deep inside that is waiting to get unlocked is even more dumb though.

You’re not wrong, I acknowledge Zion’s absence is a primary reason for our lack of postseason success. But I can’t get over how bad CJ is on defense. He’ll never be efficient enough on offense to mask how terrible he is at defense. He’s got a big target on his forehead, every team wants to run actions to attack him and they succeed at extraordinarily high %s

When you look at what we gave up- currently this is a win for the pelicans. Could that change if those picks are high lottery picks and Dyson becomes DPOY? Absolutely.
