He does not want to play for the pelicans anymore

He’s been medically able to play for at least 3 weeks but his medical team is putting ridiculous obstacles up while team medical says okay.

Other players are irritated because they know he can play and other guys are hurt but playing. There is now bad blood amongst the players and Zion.

He will likely be dealt him the off-season. There’s too much bad blood.

There’s no I in team but there is an I in Zion.

Sounds more like the speculation on Zion. There is definitely some stuff not adding up right now though. I’m not sure anyone knows the truth outside of the team and Zion’s camp.

Seems like a lot of personal opinions and not the truth.

Well if the team says you can play and you refuse, then I would refuse to pay him.
The Team doctors are the defacto in this decision.

Mrs benson should say I don't feel like cutting checks until I feel like Mrs benson again.

Pretty much every single one of these points can be debated off of stuff we've heard or have been told. The real truth is nobody outside those doors on Airline have a clue.

Of all the panicked threads I’ve read in the last few months, this take is the dumbest. What bad blood dude? The pelicans are frustrated, of course, but trading Zion during the offseason when his value has never been lower is about as short sighted a decision as we could make.

Say we trade him for scraps and he grows up and becomes the Zion we’d hoped for someone else? Good way to get a front office fired

You can call it speculation but I truly believe the zion era is over.

Dont know how that man can face his teammates now after last nights antics.

So 1 of 2 things should happen. We get rid of everyone (including those who want to give it their all and want to be here) or get rid of zion.

Getting rid of zion is the play imo to prevent bad blood from infecting the locker room and impacting our season next year. These players are human, so there will be bad blood if there isnt already

What antics last night? Did you see him juggling in the sidelines or something?

Player all love Zion. You guys are really dumb

Also, virtually all of his teammates are Gen Z. They don’t get angry about someone being mentally unwell and whatnot. Don’t take your own beliefs and put them on a kid whose nothing like you or I

ETA: not to mention that if a player is hating on Zion for this, he’s hating on BI for the exact same shite. BI missed two months with a bruised toe. The new gen is just different than us I think

Because it is speculation. We're all reading tea leaves and we're often wrong because we just don't have enough pieces of the puzzle.

We don't even know what the problem is with Zion. Is it really a mental issue tied to the injury, or is it behind the scenes maneuvering by his camp? If it's the latter, do they want out at all costs or is it part of a cold war with Griff and the simplest solution is to fire Griff?

You're assuming it is over when you don't even know what the problem is. What the actual problem is determines what the next moves are by both sides, if there are indeed sides here.

I can't see ownership responding well to a hostile act from a player, but generally speaking, most teams would replace the POBO to keep a generational player happy if that's the only issue here.

I couldn't agree more. I also think that, despite how frustrating it is, the FO is right to let Zion stay inactive until he feels ready. We've seen a similar situation handled the other way, where the team and FO start leaking to the media that they're frustrated with a players absence because they all think he's healthy.

Where does Kawhi Leonard play these days? How's life been for the Spurs since he left?

It’s so bizarre. He missed all those games from a friggin’ hamstring pull. Whoever is at fault turned off a lot of people, and burned a lot of equity this team built with the city.

Remember the excitement after beating the Nets in that first game of the regular season? It’s so strange how the team fell so far from that.

I’ll be honest. I don’t care what happens this off-season. I'm so turned off by what transpired this season.

I’ve been skeptical all year but after pregame last night. He wants out. That was definitely “ frick y’all” statement. It’s time to move on

Zion showed no antics? Ha

Talking about windmills? Showing off after the media statement the day before?

Bad blood stemming from the fact that team doctors cleared him to play but his “team” docs said he was not 100% but closer to 99% while other team mates are playing with known injuries.

Zion is preserving his health for his next gig. He’s holding out so he doesn’t get hurt and thus kill his trade value.

He could have played last night, helped the team, and kept hope alive. He’s quit on this team.

We still doing this thing where we blindly agree with everything that comes out of Griffin’s mouth when his back is against the wall?

We don’t know the truth on that end. We probably never will.

Dude was doing windmill dunks during pregame and he’s saying he’s not ready to play. Hamstring looked alright pushing off to get those dunks in.

If that ain’t the biggest F U to the Pelicans !!
