I guess the ? Needs to be asked: is trading Graham for KCP worth moving down two spots in the top 10?

I don't think so unless you have rock solid intel that the Spurs aren't taking the player you want or entertaining trades. Like if you KNEW they were taking Duren. I'm not sure how they'd know that though.

The blind leading the stupid…

I have NO fricking clue how the Knicks could swing this with most teams, as that is a swing of about 7 places near the top of the first.

With the Kings? Vivek is probably beating off over Randle and will trade the pick for him and another supposed win now player like Fournier.

I said early on the Kings will probably frick this up and trade 4 for 11 and Randle.

I’d laugh.

I’d laugh if the Knicks still found a way to frick this up.

They may dump Randle and get the leftover of Ivey, Banchero, Chet, and Smith, but I figure they then go out and make the stupidest possible FA signing they can, locking up a third or fourth tier player for 4 years at a godawful amount.

The old Isiah Thomas kind of signing.

that would be graham + 8 for ?? + 10; pels would have to take back some salary, presumably KCP. excellent if true, either way

So we lose out on Mathurin or Daniels just to get off Graham whose contract isnt that bad for one year of an expiring KCP?

I’ll pass.

I think the best case scenario for such a trade is that you know Sharpe and two guys you want (Sochan and Mathurin, possibly) are on the board.

Make the deal with Washington and draft Sharpe. No matter who the Spurs pick, we get a guy we want while also dumping Graham for KCP.

Hell, doing this actually raises the chances of Sochan being our guy since KCP, at least for one season, can be the gunner we need while Sochan can be a defensive stopper.

One option is to just draft Sharpe (if Sochan is still on the board), and tell Washington if Sochan drops to them you’ll do the deal. Otherwise you walk away from the draft with Sharpe.

ETA: or a similar deal if Daniels is there. Draft Daniels, and have a contingent deal in place in the event that Sochan drops to 10.

Shaedon Sharpe’s reported 49-inch vertical isn’t correct. Pacers VP of Player Personnel Ryan Carr said today on @JMV1070 that Sharpe didn’t reach that number in their workout: “He didn’t quite do that here.”

I may be one of the few that wouldn't mind us taking Sharpe. But it takes 2 minutes watching his tape to see the 49 inch vert was always bogus. He's a really good leaper, but he's not Ja or Ant Edwards in the air.

A 6'6" guy with a 49" vertical would look like a Space Jam character out there.

Windy also apparently said that the Cavs have made a promise to Dieng to pick him at 14.

Beal declining player option and will be unrestricted. Sounds like he has picked his next squad and they will do a sign and trade.

He can decline his PO and still resign with Wash. they can still offer him the most. I wouldn’t assume anything.

That’s what I was thinking. If he does this, he gets a fresh new 5 year deal with the last year as a player option.

It means banking probably $160m or more for going out there to chuck shots and play no D.

Beal also just tweeted as if he was unaware of opting out.

Don’t know if been mentioned but apparently John Collins has been offered by Atlanta, if we can find a way to swap picks while unloading Temple/Hayes+Graham, go get Branham and I’d be ready to see a Championship soon.

I’m not seeing enough improvement from JV to Collins to justify the increase in salary of about $8m a season.

Collins shoots about 1 more 3PA per game but Jonas is a better rebounder. Most of their other stats are fairly equal though Collins is younger.

I’m not looking hard into advanced defense stats right now but, considering Collins is on a shitty defensive team in Atlanta, I’m not seeing his defense as a major leap above JV’s.
