Also classic Boom cherry picking.
Booker was overrated last year and the advanced stats didn't align with his media ranking.
You know Boom is getting desperate when he's making gotcha arguments with Devin Booker as the hidden player

They are 5-6 different generally accepted and respected metrics that all use different formulas to assign value and all come to the exact same conclusion. Safe to say there wasn’t much difference between these guys

Is Chet going to be a bench player this upcoming season?

Referencing the same mock I’m watching for where we are on there…
1. Jabari Smith - Orlando
2. Chet Holmgren - OKC
3. Paolo Banchero - Houston
4. Jaden Ivey - Knicks (traded 11, 23 Dallas 1st, 24 Knicks 1st, Immanuel Quickley, Fournier for 4, Richaun Holmes)
5. Keegan Murray - Pistons
6. Benedict Matthurin - Pacers
7. Shaedon Sharpe - OKC (traded 12, Lu Dort, Keinrich Williams for 7)
Have not watched our pick yet, but I would love it if things worked out like this. Daniels and Sochan still on the board.
Edit- And our pick in this mock is… Daniels.

Booker was 1st team all nba and they are neck and neck at every advanced stat you can find on bball ref. It is not cherry pickin when they all agree. That is how I use my analytics. I don’t favor one or the other but prefer to look at them As a whole.

re gobert/utah/bulls
quote:
According to Bleacher Report’s Jake Fischer and The Ringer’s Kevin O’Connor, Chicago has already inquired about Gobert. For both Gobert and the Bulls, this fit makes way too much sense from a timeline perspective. Gobert is in his prime and Chicago has all the pieces necessary to make a run. Zach LaVine, who is expected to re-sign with the Bulls, and DeMar DeRozan form a strong scoring tandem. Add in Lonzo Ball and Alex Caruso — who would be the best perimeter defenders that Gobert has played with — and now Chicago is cooking with gas. This is a team that would be ripe for a deep postseason run next season. The question is: what is Utah's asking price for Gobert? Any deal would likely involve two-time All-Star Nikola Vucevic. Fischer noted that former No. 4 overall pick Patrick Williams has fans in the Jazz’s front office. However, according to Fischer, "the Bulls do not appear willing to include Patrick Williams alongside Vucevic in a trade package for Gobert." Rightfully, Chicago should haggle over Williams’ inclusion and try to send out multiple draft picks instead.

Do they have multiple draft picks to send after what they paid for Vuc?
Also let's not forget the 1sts sent for Lonz-oh nevermind

I’m not giving up Gobert without Pat Williams, but still I don’t know how much Vucecic/Williams interests me if I’m Utah.

Would you rather have multiple late firsts or have CJ and Nance?
Edit - BTW, Chicago still owes picks to Orlando for Vuc and San Antonio for DeRozan.

Wasn’t going to be both.
We either got expirings and a massive TPE, picks, or a sign and trade of someone like Lauri Markkanen.
If we don’t have the expirings, we don’t get CJ.
If we don’t have the TPE, we don’t get Nance.

You know who has the assets for Durant?
OKC. OKC has double, triple, quadruple the amount of draft trade chips of any other team in the league. Including us, due to Griffin not maximizing draft capital and assets the last couple years.
OKC can offer a deal centering around pick number 2 and still probably keep Shai Gilgeous and possibly even Giddey.
Also, the last time anyone really respected Durant was when he was in OKC before he started going the join a 73 win team or build your own super team route.
I think he might be willing/motivated to go back to where his career started and win a ring there with Shai, which would probably shut the critics up once and for all.

You should go look at OKC’s draft capital, it’s pretty much all heavily protected picks except for the one Houston one.
Posted on 6/22/22 at 4:50 pm to Soggymoss
Maybe Houston should trade for Durant in exchange for giving Brooklyn their picks back.
Posted on 6/22/22 at 4:53 pm to 3PieceSpicy
If we ignore salary matching, we can offer Zion and offer Durant a team ready to win around him. Zion wins this pissing contest of assets.

Detroit has traded Jerami Grant to Portland for 2025 first-round pick via Milwaukee, sources tell ESPN.
The 2025 first-round pick via Milwaukee is protected Nos. 1-4, sources said. Detroit sends Grant into a $21M trade exception, and Pistons now have $43 million in salary cap space for free agency.
