The guy that made a conference finals with all role players? Everyone on this team needs to get out of their comfort zone. Y’all with this friendly shite kill me.

I'm not with "friendly shite" I'm against team killer shite.

That franchise has sunk to a pretty low spot this season WITH health, and Trae Young is largely to blame. He's just not a winning basketball player.

Who off the hawks team would you replace with guys off our team? Only 1 I can think of

Capella>Jonas

Would u take Murray over BI?
Collins over Trey?
Hunter over Herb?

Young went to a conference finals with the guys you wouldn’t trade any of the pelicans roster for MINUS Murray

Man I know young is not perfect but for us to turn our nose up at a guy who willed his team to a conference finals by himself is crazy

Throw in a couple of protected 1st and it’s done. You see that +7 wins by Trae name? Yeah that’ll be nice wouldn’t it

Murray- he’s good but not great

Capella- great role player
Idek who their 5th guy is

Murray and Collins are borderline All-Stars.

Hunter and Capella are upper level defenders.

Bey and Bogdanovic are solid reserve scorers.

Then you have emerging young reserves Okongwu, Griffin, and Johnson.

The 1st 6 I named would be starters on 80% of the teams in the league. At worst would play 20+mpg for every team.

It's an impressive group that has underachieved since that run..

Some team will offer more than that. Hawks should and would ask for that plus the picks and one of herb/Murphy, and I'm out on that shite.

My superstar guards have to be good to great 3pt shooters, young aint

I’m out on that as well whatiknow, but if you can give up cj, Kira, Dyson, and a few pics I’ll do that all day

Okungwu is a little better than Jax
Griffin is better than Dyson
Johnson I haven’t watched much

Now ask yourself why a dude who was 22 and 10 on 40% from 3 and 66% TS% has become more and more unplayable the more and more the offense has become a Trae Young-centric offense

All that growth we've seen from Trey Murphy this season and our hopes for another leap next year...go grab Trae Young, would you honestly argue that you're just as confident in Trey Murphy's ability to keep growing? No chance.

I don't know you keep flipping it to the Pelicans vs Hawks for scale. I think both rosters are great and deep. They both underachieved IMO.

Do you really think the Hawks have a bad roster? Young is limited by a weak supporting cast?

For you Trae haters please see TNT and how the whole Heats defense is fixated on Trae, and the Hawks are killing them. Trae similar to Zion brings 3pt shooting gravity. He will immensely change your offense overnight.

They say he’s ball dominant and wants all the shots or he’s not productive. 18 shots tonight compared to CJ 24 shots in the last game.

You think CJ take that many shots if his bench gave him 53 points?

This thread blew up in some faces with Trae effortlessly leading the Hawks to a win tonight as an underdog, on the road against Miami (a team that has previously owned him)

Trae’s a good player. People should seriously rewatch some of his matchups just against the Pelicans. He out clutches everyone on the Pels time and time again.

He’d be outstanding on our team and many teams. Maybe he’s a bit of a jackass. But dude consistently plays and leads his team to the playoffs year in and out.

Sure, if you ignore the 41-41 record after 82 games for the 1 game sample size.

Pels front office should definitely make all their decision on this 1 game only.

He’s a star for sure - bottom line for the Pels is that it’s imperative for them to get a legit PG in order to take the next step.

Trae Young is a good start.

Personally I’d rather Dejounte Murray, he was excellent tonight. Made the right passes, gets in the lane, can shoot the 3, and is a long/lengthy defender.

Could you imagine him, a pass-first PG, finding and feeding CJ and BI in half court sets and in transition?!

If I could pick one, aside from the obvious ones (Ja/Luka/Steph), he’s be the one I’d go after if at all available.

This was the stat line for an off night for Trae
25 pts
8-18 fg
8 reb
7 assist ( which were all created from the gravity he creates)

I wouldn’t give up BI, Trey, zion, or Herb to get him but if we can give up CJ, the young guys and some protected 1st’s we’d be fools not to.

Another thing to consider is resigning Jax if we get him. Jax becomes an Elite role player with a Trae or Luka type

You were blaming Trae Young for Collins drop in performance

You might want to do some research. That drop off coincided with a broken finger on his shooting hand. He just hasn’t recovered since then. In addition his role was diminished when Dejounte Murray was brought in.

So John Collins doesn’t suck bc of Trae Young. They were actually a solid duo for awhile when Collins was healthy with a finger that allowed him both to shoot and attack the rim.

They’re looking for all the negatives and are just flat out wrong about some of them. Yes he’s terrible at defense but his offense overlaps that. He shoots dumb shots at times (makes a good bit of them)
