He is not "balling" -- he is putting up offensive stats. A huge difference.

Randle is playing great, if he were coming off the bench..

Unless his defense gets better, his best role is as a high energy 1st off the bench guy..

People make alot of fuss about our bench not scoring, but that would change if we havent been having to play Randle in the starting lineup.. When Niko is back I'd like to see them reduce AD's minutes and give somewhere in the neighborhood of:

AD 32 mins
Niko 26 mins
Randle 26 mins (off the bench)
Jah 12 mins

Thats fine for this year, but Randle isn't settling for a backup role next year and Niko isn't taking the bench role and the pay cut he would need to take to keep everyone either. Long story short, all three bigs won't be on the team next year, so you move one now for something. If some other team really values Randle - I'd trade him in an instant

I think of Randle as a guy that can be the best offensive player on a team's bench. Floor spacing isnt as good when hes on the floor and though he's a very good NBA player I think the ceiling is higher for this team with Niko going forward. I still think this team is close to being a really good team in this league. Not a championship team but a 47-50 win team. Id like to see us get a little more grit late in games and actually get some stops. Look what guys like Pj Tucker did for the Rockets those guys are out there.

Didn’t somebody start a thread saying the Bucks wanted Randle for Brogdon?

What if it was Brogdon (+picks) to Washington, Randle to Milwaukee and Beal to Nola as the centerpieces of a deal

That's an interesting spin on it. We believe that taking Mahinmmi is what it takes just to get the conversation started. Full trade includes a bunch of minimums and expirings adding noise TL;DR deal framework:

Pels get Beal and Dedmon
Milwaukee gets Randle
Atlanta gets Brodgon/Maker/Mahinimi
Washington gets Moore/Lin a bunch of expirings and minimums and a 1st.

It's the first reasonable trade I've seen for Beal to Pels without sending out 2 1sts or just 1 1st while taking on a terrible contract.

Beal tidbits from Crewz on the Twitters:

quote:

From the little I heard from the people I trust- offers Washington have had so far for Beal can easily be beat. That said, there is a very real possibility Washington just chooses not to move him. But if they are going to trade him, Pels can get him if they really wanna go for it

quote:

Example, Brooklyn has offered a package revolving around Carroll, Russell, Musa, and a pick. Just one pick. No clue why that would be appealing for Washington.

Bucks get: J. Randle, Diallo, fake 2nd from Wiz Wiz get: M. Brogdon, Jason Smith, E. Moore, Wes Johnson Pels 2019 and 2021 picks Pels get: Beal, Thon Maker, Satoransky

Really rather not send out two picks and lose out on cheap controllable talent, again.

If it means keeping AD then I'm all for it. And if we lose him, we recoup those picks anyway. On the plus side, it pretty much locks Dell into hanging on to the 2020 pick

You wouldn’t want a lineup of Beal, Jrue, Niko and AD?

I don't feel like that would necessarily keep AD, and the lack of cheap talent has haunted us for years. Then one person goes down and we're back in this position. I don't have faith in our coaching either for that kind of a swing. Now if we had AD locked in for a couple more years, I'd be more on board. Even if it was one more year.

That might be what it takes, but I don't think Washington goes for this specific package. They don't have to trade Beal, I'm guessing they want it all, player(s), picks and salary relief. Reroute one of those 1sts to a 4th team to take Mahinmi for an expiring and Washington would find it hard to say no.

Atlanta perhaps? Maybe they send out Lin who's a $13M expiring for Mahinmi and one of the firsts? Maybe we see if there's a way to get Dedmon out of it too?

Edit: Works with Lin and Mahinmi LINK

Yeah, kind of like that deal with the deal I came up with except Brogdon goes to Washington and the Pels have to send out a 2nd 1st.

Just to make sure before some idiot comes out and says I steal ideas from you all (never have), note the time stamps. My tweets came out before your post or the one before it. Good minds think alike, and although my ideas have been stolen MANY times, I never accuse people of it. Just wanna put that out there before some loser comes by and says something.

Think I would rather find a way to take on Mahinmi than give up the 2nd 1st rounder.

It's really hard if not impossible to get there because of the salary matching that's needed and Washington wanting to dump salary. The only way, and I think it's iffy, is a trade like I posted. But in that the best players the Wizards get back are Moore and Lin. Are those 2, a 1st and dumping Mahinmi enough? Probably not.

I think you have to go the extra step of sending them Brogdon which means you need to put out that 2nd 1st to move salary to the 4th team. A trade where they get Brogdon/Moore/1st and dump Mahinmi is something that should check a lot of boxes they'd be looking for in a Beal trade.

Hopefully you can also squeeze a few more assets out of Washington and Atlanta like Bembry and Satoransky. That would help make up for trading 2 picks that hopefully are late teens or worse even if AD leaves.

I suppose you could look at a Niko/Mahinmi swap but I'd rather send out a 1st and keep Niko, especially if we're trading Randle.

Wait, Crewz said this?

Using Randle as part of a package to land Beal. Almost sounds like Randle is a trade asset...hmm...
