thing is, the Pelicans believe Hayes is the next Myles Turner or the next Jarrett Allen
And I don’t agree with this, especially not Turner. He could be Allen, who is not comparable to Turner.

which part do you disagree with? I said the Pelicans believe, hope Hayes is the next Myles Turner

thats very different from me saying I think he will be

They were obviously coached up in that department over the course of the year and improved tremendously ... I would bet a lot that by his second year, Hayes averages more rebounds per game than he did in college, and wouldn’t be shocked if he does it his rookie year.

Not to mention that just another year of eating food will help Hayes get more rebounds.

SFP, wayyy to early to judge Bamba, etc. He just finished year 1. Your certainly missing the point if your thinking a 1 year span.

Tyson Chandler sucked his first year in the league. I expect better from you SFP.

By the way Bamba’s per 36 this year was 13 and 11. He is developing.

Its actually quite the opposite. You see potential guys going in the lottery.

You see older guys that have almost reached their pinnacle or have some serious baggage going in the 20s.

This tells me you may not have a firm grasp on the NBA.

Just keep ignoring his FT percentage? For what? Stop trolling dude. Obviously scouts have reason to say he will be able to shoot

This isn't the nfl draft.
There was one sure thing in this draft, and that was Zion.
Expecting all-stars when you draft is a sure fire way to be disappointed, b/c 90% of the time you're going to be disappointed, if not more.

Why do you think Hayes can't space the floor?

Because there is no evidence that he can.

or a three

Because he didn’t shoot any,

Neither did this guy, until he did.

His second year attempting 3’s he shot 39.2%. Last year he shot 46.5%.

He didn’t even attempt 3’s his first 6 years in the league. Guess which team he played for when he developed his 3pt shot...

LOL. Yeh, so Tyson Chandler’s defense had nothing to do with the Dallas Mavericks championship over Lebron and the heat????

Again, that team had shooters everywhere, and it was before the stretch 5 stuff Bosh started a couple years later. You are comparing different era’s of the NBA really.

Basketball isnt just threes dude

It’s mostly about 3’s these days. More importantly, it’s about fitting your team together like puzzle pieces. If you are gonna have Clint Capela, everyone else better be able to shoot.

You seem to be under the impression that this team is the finished product.

You don't play with 10 people, you play with 5, and two of their starters, who all averaged over 32mpg in the playoffs, didn't shoot 3's at all, in Marion and Chandler.

I agree it's about 3's, but Hayes projects to be able to develop a shot, and even if he doesn't, i agree that everyone else better be able to shoot. Lonzo better figure it out quick or i'd send his arse out in a heartbeat if he can't figure out how to get to the rim and shoot better.

Hayes not developing a shot, doesn't mean he doesn't fit well on this team. I said it earlier, setting a good screen and rolling to the rim is an easy way to create space. If Hayes can do that, at a minimum, then it's the other guys we have a problem with.
Lonzo not developing a shot is a much bigger concern.

I NEVER said that Hayes will be DeAndre Jordan at worst. Go back and read my post. Someone asked how DeAndre Jordan compares to Hayes and I responded

Yeah I know you didn’t say it. I was commenting on you implying that the guy who said it, and has since said other idiotic things, was what passed for good takes on the Pels board.

Apparently my takes are bad because I’m not sold on a guy who can’t shoot just developing a shot. Guys like Hayes bust more often than not, and I’m not even saying he will be a bust.

you just eliminated like 75% of the talent options cause you have this "need for a starter".

Your takes are bad because they’re poorly reasoned.

You don't draft a guy that may become a starter in five years if he develops a shot at 8..I know that we got that extra pick via trade but at the end of the day the pels are a lottery team and even with the AD trade they have plenty of holes to fill and a big that can't shoot and is not a great rebounder is a waste of a pick and doesn't help this team get better in the next two to three years. To expect a guy that has played basketball for two years to develop into a quality starter in the NBA is a lot to ask

look man. I try to be objective& respectful here. I try to be understanding that there will be silly questions, bad takes, whatever. And I try my best to simply answer questions or give my take

I don't mind takes that are different. In fact I welcome them because I don't want an echo chamber. keep your takes up I don't mind them
