They lost Haliburton for the year, they lost their 2nd best player to free agency.
I guess you are forgetting Siakam, who is way better thanTurner and many nights is even their best player. In the playoffs Miles was often their 4/5 best player.
Obviously Indiana are so bad because of all other injuries (McConnell, Toppin, Mathurin, Nesmith) and because they have their pick back can afford tanking.
So this trade was by no means awful and it was needed if you want to get Queen.

The odds for teams with the 3 worst records give them each a 52% chance to be within the top 4, and a 48% chance to be outside of the top 4. Take history out of the equation, those are the odds.

So what you are saying is, once they get healthy, they will move down and the pick likely falls in the 6-10 spot.
And if our pick hits the lottery, we end up giving up both a top 4 pick and a top ten pick. And you think that was good value for Queen? Two picks that were higher than where he was drafted?

Where have you seen me writing anything about the second trade? (which should have had protection).
I am pointing only that the trade with Indiana was not bad at all. Realistically, you could never forsee that a team will miss 5 of his top 7 players (make it 6 of top 8 of you count Turner) when making a trade (unless you believe in Pels curse).
And because they have their pick back they could and will be more cautious in returning players from injuries and will be losing way more games then they would have.

I am in, simply to bench him and watch Queen becomes King
People downvoting this comment... it seems that the fan base is totally depressed and completely lost any sense of humor

If he waits till the draft like any competent gm does, he’d know Haliburton would be out for the year. The pick becomes more valuable just with that info. At worse we could squeeze more out of Indiana if we were intent on trading the pick.
