again, let me clarify, since evidently i was watching a great saints performance tonight, according to y'all...

i do NOT think we are going to go 1-15... we will win more games than we will lose.... we may even make it to the playoffs again this season....

but from what i have seen, THUS FAR, from this team... we will NOT win the Super Bowl.... and that is all i give a shite about.... if you ain't finishing first, you might as well be finishing last....

we are past the point of just having "good" seasons.... we are past just "winning the first playoff game".... this team is put together for one singular purpose: to win the division, get homefield, and win the Super Bowl... anything outside of that is a failure.... period...

you can have all the gaudy offensive and defensive stats, you can have the great record in the regular season.... frick that....

once more for the the Pacific Time Zoners, just so I don't have to say this shite again.... from my observation (and in case you can't comprehend, that's my OPINION) this team has some serious fundamental flaws and will NOT win the Super Bowl this season....

So after two preseason games we will not win the superbowl. Gotcha. I'll inform Loomis and Payton to play for the Luck this year.

count me in the not worried, its preseason, most great teams lose preseason games, not to mention we play them early in the season, thus the vanilla playbook.....people who are worried are retarded pussies

Say it with me now, "it's the preseason". I promise it'll make you feel better.

reading mutha fricka, do you does it??????????????????????

again, i'm NOT saying we are going 1-15.... i'm not implying we are going to suck arse....

i AM saying we do not have the appearance of a championship caliber team, from the evidence (the two televised preseason games, that have been played thus far) that i have seen...

also, i am NOT saying i have given up on MY saints... this is my team, better or worse... i was there for the 3-13's as much as i was for the Super Bowl season.... but the window will be effectively closed in 4 to 5 years, so when i see shitty play on the field, i call it like i see it... i think we are further apart from our overall goal, FROM WHAT I HAVE SEEN, thus far....

Dude you are the only one pushing this non super bowl caliber agenda. I see your point but instead of saying we aren't super bowl ready ( show me a team that is by the way) just day we still have work cut out for ourselves. We still have some tackling issues that aren't resolved from the Seattle debacle.

Scheming and play calling has zilch to do with tackling and blocking. These things are just assumed at the pro level. I personally think home teams just get up a little bit more for these pre season games. I saw that in the Eagles Steelers game. Not in every case. But you can tell the work a little bit harder and put forth more effort.

I feel uber confident that barring injuries or suspensions we will be a top 4-5 contender for the Super Bowl. Which I think most talking heads and media outlets tend to agree with.

Just simmer and relax. Look for the positives in pres season games. Find the silver lining. Like we got pierre Thomas back and looked decent.

Agreed. From my perspective, our defense showed a face last night that is not pretty at all. Big, big problems at LB. I will say though that they will not face many QB's better than Schaub.

To quote Sean Payton - "You can't sugarcoat a performance like that."
This is supposed to be preparation for the real deal - starting with the Green Bay game.
We looked like shite. The OL was poor in pass protection for Drew. The DL was completely dominated and never once forced a punt in the first half.
Don't try to tell me it was nothing.

My biggest problem was with Safety Paul Oliver, who I'm hoping wont have to play much. Jenkins is very key to this defense and it was obvious last night.

Three things concern me:

1. We get no pass rush from our D-line
2. Our D-line couldn't stop the run
3. Our O-line keeps struggling

good for you. Sorry about your sudden blindness as well

Here are some issues for me:

OL - Peee U. Pressure from the sides, pressure up the middle. Got to come together there, week in Cali might help but might need to find another tackle and Kreutz is a concern

Overall energy was lacking. Maybe just in a worn out mode or something but IMO they didn't show last night, glad it was just preseason

3-4 defenses- Seem to terrorize SP and Drew for some reason...Teams pick this kind of thing up, might see more special 3/4 packages from teams that don't go 3/4 full time

preseason is preseason. Every team is different. Saints play this same team in week 3 (?) of regular season, so Im hoping it was just a blah we don't care kind of deal.....

but there are more concerns on this team than I had 3-4 weeks ago, but I'm not ready to throw the baby out with the bath water either

but there are concerns

Not worried, it's the second preseason game after a short training camp with no OTAs.

Considering the starters left the game down 14-7 in the 2nd quarter, that shouldn't make anyone worry too much
