No playoffs the last half decade, Vegas has us with the worse roster in the league. Not one all pro player at an offensive or defensive position. But Loomis knows better than us duuuurrr

Nah, you’re right. There are multiple GMs on this board who’d have had us win multiple SBs over the past 4 years. Because they wouldn’t miss a single pick, all future HoFamers. Damn shame they choose instead to work at plants, law firms and engineering firms instead.

The Saints have hit on some small-college guys like Evans, Bushrod, Armstead - OL that you could say pushed around lesser talented players. But they became good-great professionals.

bruh, that's a long time ago, and college football, with NIL and the transfer portal, has changed... guys who are great performers at lesser schools transfer to bigger programs now, so realistically those that are still at small schools, really are the left overs and aren't as talented as the small school wonders from before the NIL/portal era... all the true talent is at big name school nowadays...

look at the Eagles recent drafts... by and large, mostly Power 5 schools they are drafting from... that's not coincidence... and all they've done recently is amass one of the deepest rosters in the NFL and win the Super Bowl...

just saying, whatever we are doing, doesn't seem to be working, whereas what some other teams are doing, is...

Like I said, there’s no science to it. But hadn’t thought of the NIL angle, which I think may have been true for the past couple drafts and will definitely be a factor going forward. If you outplay your recruiting profile you’re going to likely be re-recruited by and playing for a Power 5. Good point.

Not only that but this is the biggest reason. They are actually taking best player on the board that falls. Saints have been targeting players before the draft even starts. It’s why they moved into the first that year without a player even being drafted.

Look at the Eagles recent picks,
Cooper Dejean, dropped from the first, the other corner last year that dropped significantly, Jihaad this year. Jalen Carter was the number one overall player and they took him after he slipped ten spots. Nolan Smith is another one, was viewed as a top ten talent., Nakobe Dean dropped to the 4th I think, was suppose to go much higher.

They are really taking bpa. Ravens are also great at this. Saints could give two shits and are taking players they target and reaching their asses off and it has been a total disaster. It’s why those teams continue to pick at the bottom and why we drafting near the top ten the last few years.

Loomis thinks he’s a king and the smartest person in the room and he’s a dumass.
