The benefit I get from the Saints winning out is the satisfaction of watching people melt, from wanting them to lose for a higher draft pick. Winners play to win, losers play to lose. Maybe it's time to pick another team if you're a loser.

I honestly think we're pretty close to a solid playoff team if we'd get a little more consistency in the play calling. I think so much in the way he nfl is just getting on a roll /getting used to winning. We are about 3 or 4 plays from double digits wins. Just need to breakthrough

I agree with all of this. We caught some bad bounces this year, but we are finally headed in the right direction.

This team with a healthy Kikaha/Breaux and a solid free agency/draft is going to be ready to bust some heads next year.

I'm just a firm believer in maintaining a winning culture, and hoping/trying to lose is the quickest way to set that shite on fire.

Drew needs to go out like Elway. He's good enough, and we are closer than most think to putting together a contender. All the dead money is finally going away - this is the offseason to make it happen.

I just hope we don't panic and frick it all up.

Who cares about draft position when we can go to ATL and kill that team's momentum. We go in there and curb stomp them. If that leads to a first round loss/embarrassment for the Falcons, that is much more satisfying than a draft pick 1-2 spots higher.

Remember, the Falcons were 5-0 a couple years ago. We crushed them, and they took a nose dive the rest of their season.

The time for losing for a better draft pick is over. Should have dropped the last 2 if they were going to do that.

Now it's important to finish strong and hand the Falcons their arse. Winning the last 3 would be a confidence booster.

Sign Kevin Zeitler and maybe a legit LB or maybe JPP. Draft defense and an OL in the first 3 rounds and we're set.

With a healthy Defense next year, the only weak link on the D would be Sterling Moore.

Agreed, it's too late now. But a couple games back, I don't see anything wrong with the Saints playing Grayson and backups to see what they have and if they win, great. At this point though, I want the Saints to destroy the birds. What I really want is the Saints to give a shite as much as they seemingly do about the last 3 games the rest of the season. I still can't understand why Payton thought running out the clock against Carolina was a good play. There's an easy 3-4 games the Saints should have won.

For those saying a couple spots don't matter really don't see the bigger picture. It's every round. Look at the 2013 draft where Sheldon Richardson and Star Lotulelei went right in front of us. Look at 2015 draft where Leonard Williams, Vic Beasley, and Danny Shelton all went in front of dough boy. Williams would have needed a trade up but Vic and Danny could've been had. Look at 2016, where I am completely stoked about Rankins, but players like Hargreaves, Apple, and Floyd went right in front. You have a better chance of a stud early than you do later. And none of this looks at the 2nd and 3rd rounds as well. To say a couple spots won't help is short-sighted.

Hopefully we get another Rankins hit. We need another Cam Jordan. And yes, I know Cam was picked 24th, but do we really think that it's easier to find a player like him at 24 or top 10? We'll have lots of money for FA, let's hope the shitty FO doesn't frick it up like they have with Byrd, Browner, Spiller, Fleener, etc. A good draft and some good FA and this team can win the South next year.

As one of those people I get that. But there comes a time where you just have to be a damn fan and root for a win. Against one of our most hated teams is one of those times.

This is not the NBA though, Talent is spread throughout the draft. Not everything is first round or bust.

I look at the draft like this. If you need a DE then why not get one of the top 2 DEs in the draft and you do that by drafting high. If you want a CB then you get one of the top 2 by drafting high

well it's not always so easy to tell who the top 2 are. The guys that go 10-20 are a crapshoot, it's a lot like college football recruiting. The top 5 are typically (obviously not always) the clear cut upper echelon franchise type players, but picking 12th or 16th really isn't a huge difference. For instance, Melvin Ingram and Dont'a Hightower played the same position. Ingram went 7 spots ahead of Hightower and Hightower has proven to be a superior player. There are numerous examples of cases like this. Unless you are talking the difference between picking 4th or 24th, the difference is minimal in the middle of the first

We need better players on defense, period. Winning the last 3 does not change that

Well, as I said, "At this point though, I want the Saints to destroy the birds."

To make them play a wild card instead of a bye would be fantastic. BUT, 3 weeks ago I'm saying the Saints could've thought about the future instead of some stats chasing, because let's face it Brees and Payton are stat monsters. Instant gratification (of going 8-8 ) or potentially years better for the organization with multiple high round picks?
