There was literally no excuse to turn in what is arguably the worst post-season performance of his career.
So you think Brees only cares about stats and not a 2nd Superbowl? So he was just ready to end the season and decided to mail it in today?

What were his stats this season? Brees was killing it since he came back. Top scoring offense since he came back. 3 games the O-line played like garbage!!! Atl, Rams , Vikings
All losses
All losses

Wrong.
Hes more than capable of winning games. The whole team excluding Taysom played a shitty game and still went to OT.
We win the toss we may very well score on that drive too.

It happened. His reasons/motivations/thoughts are irrelevant.

I’d say Brees is just about done mainly becuz of his arm strength...but when you have ONE RECEIVER set an NFL record for most catches EVER in NFL HISTORY it kind of dictates that you need to seek help in the Receiver position.. your next best Wide receiver Ted Ginn had 30 receptions to Michael Thomas’s 149 receptions going into todays game...that’s a terrible ratio between receivers... the Saints have had this problem for 3 years but still failed to correct it...

Brees is one of the most accurate QB's in the 2019 season and has the least amount of INTs. Not to mention all his other stats.
He may not be in his prime, but he's still a top tier QB.

we figured we were legit and ran it back after minny miracle and we had a 1 seed and the NFL fricked us. it is over. last year was the last real shot.

Brees tried it and you seen the end result...Will still be a problem next year and it’s not going to get any Better in 2020 with Brees at Qb...

It'll be worse next year without Brees, until we are able to draft/develop a QB of his level. And those don't come around often.

Saints immediate needs besides a QB are a speed burner at WR - Ruggs III from Alabama
- A OL guard
- A CB - If they don't bring back Janoris Jenkins.

Here is the fallacy. You can't sit around waiting to draft/develop a QB of Brees' level. What you do have is someone like Hill who has shown potential. If Bridgewater can go 5-0 with this team then Hill is good enough to rely on as a starter for a year to see if he can meet his potential. If not, then you move on.
But there is zero point in hanging on to a declining Brees just so the team can go 11-5 and shite the bed in the postseason against superior competition.

Theyll never be another one that has done what he has done, and the character and quality of man he is.

Hard to win with a guy who can’t throw the ball more than 25 yards. When you get up against a good defense like today and your team isn’t having success in the run game and you have no vertical threat to extend the field against a good defense well those short and intermediate quick hitters get a little tougher to have success with and move the ball. Two big turnovers by him today as well. Hell of a player and one of the greats but it’s time to move on.

Nah he ain’t done but unless we upgrade at guard, WR and find a playmaking LB it’s hard to believe this won’t happen again.
Brees ain’t the Brees of 2011 or even 2016 or 2017. He needs all the help he can get. He needs better protection at guard and a beast of a number 2 receiver. I really don’t know what else the D can do to get better other than changing DC’s or getting another beast at LB

They brought in a bunch of receivers for workouts right before the playoffs and I believe they did look at making a move at the trade deadline. Maybe they wanted Emmanuel Sanders but the Broncos traded him to the 49ers, that's out of their control.
They made a mistake not addressing it in the offseason, however at the same time I don't think they envisioned Trequan Smith making almost no progress or Keith Kirkwood missing the entire year because of a frickin hamstring injury.

Tannehill did frickall throwing save for a few short passes, there was no downfield threat, yet the Titans won. Why? Because their OL/RB bullied the Patriots top tier D, and they stopped Brady.

Brees needs needs needs. My god how much does someone need?! How about what the Saints need? A dynamic QB that can make a play when everything isn't perfect. That sounds great.

Drew has been consistently good throughout his entire tenure in NOLA. He has won us a hell of a lot more games than he lost us.
It stings to get knocked off so early, or at all... but I can't blame DB9. Even the best have bad days. Dude gave us a Super Bowl- something I'd never thought would happen in my wildest dreams.
Lotta Saints fans might be shitting on him right now but I guarantee nobody is being harder on Drew than himself right now.
