And? He was good. Not great and definitely not a QB I was very excited about, but he was undoubtedly good.

Was Archie Manning a good QB? Was Bobby Hebert?

He had a shitty head coach and an average team assembled around him. People acted like he was Albert Haynesworth.

He's definitely flawed and him leaving is needed but this inarguable.

Negative, the Raiders cut him and no other team gave him a chance but us. Think about that. And his HC weren’t that bad. Raiders in general have a bad team historically.

No, he wasn’t very good or elite. And quit blaming injuries. That’s part of the game. You either recover or you don’t from them.

Carr was a good NfL quarterback before coming to the Saints. He was properly paid for what he was

He was mediocre and past his prime. The raiders gave up on him. You can say he was properly paid but there was little to no demand for him when we signed him and we gave him top dollar. Then we backloaded his contract. He was never going to elevate this roster into a winning team. This move was never anything more than a huge waste of time. But I agree that none of this is actually Carr’s fault. Blame Mickey

Just being a bit objective, Panthers and Jets were in on trying to sign him. They weren't willing to pay what we did. It's not like he had no market... but we were just foolish to give him what we did.

False.

Just because it was reported that he talked to them doesn’t mean they were seriously interested. Jets signed Rodgers for the same money and Panthers were always drafting Bryce Young.

Sure maybe they were interested in him at $15 million a year or a cheap 1-year prove it deal. But there’s zero evidence to suggest we outbid anyone or we were competing against another team to get him.

Carr got what he deserved and I don't think he got all that much hate. He wanted money on his last contract and we were the ones to give it to him. He wasn't great and he wasn't bad. He didn't help the organization much nor did he drag it down solely by himself. He always seemed like a fake personality to the fans and you could tell his teammates felt the same. Once you see someone as fake its very hard to reverse that.

All I remember is seeing reports leaning him towards the jets. To say there were never serious is a bit disingenuous. Once Carr went to NO they pivoted toward a Rodgers trade.

quote:

Carr is slightly leaning toward the Jets as his team of choice, according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler. Both the Saints and Panthers continue to talk with the quarterback about possibly signing him as well. The Jets are also interested in Aaron Rodgers should he be made available via trade, making it a complicated situation.

Lol “pivoted” towards Rodgers??

So retarded to act like Rodgers was the jets second choice. On what fricking planet is Aaron Rodgers playing second fiddle to Derek Carr. I don’t care how much Ayahuasca he does or how many Achilles he tears; he’s still an elite player who offers way more upside. Can’t believe I have to have this fairytale argument. Only on the SB. fricking casuals

The only thing dumber than this argument is calling someone a casual that disagrees with your point. Such a ridiculous and childish tactic. Go ahead with your revisionist history.

And btw I said in the original post that they had interest in Carr which they did. We can argue all day about the level of interest but to say no one had Interest at that time is just flat out wrong.

Carr got too much hate for on field.

Carr is not getting enough hate for handling the leadership of the franchise since the DA firing.

How is he supposed to handle it? The fans hated him and wanted him gone, we fired his coach and made it known we were ready to move on from him. We always had to restructure him and I believe both parties wanted a trade. No bites. We forced surgery because we might as well get one more season out of him. He refused surgery, so now they settled the $$ and he’ll be retired for a year and he can rehab on his own.

Embrace the coach.
Embrace your career.
Embrace your new teammates.
Embrace the point of your career where you are last year w organization and go out and compete and continue to earn your next opportunity.
Be a consummate pro and be a role model for next guy.

It’s impossible for me to disagree with you more.

The Raiders basically kicked this dude to the curb because he fricking blows.

Dont forget how many points he scored AT HOME against the Saints….ZERO.

HE IS DOGSHIT AND THATS BEING KIND.

The whole thing was just a failed experiment.

Happens all the time.
