Bruh that's such a bullshite argument. You are acting like they didn't build a complete SB roster before they got Saquon LAST. We have alot of needs to fill before we take a RB as last priority... The team that barely lost a Superbowl with Nick fricking Foles won 2 years later only because of Saquon? Gtfo You are proving the exact opposite point. They built up there entire roster, already were a SB contender, and THEN got a RB.
Bruh bruh on god bruh
Shut the frick up. You sound like a 12 year old.

What did Saquon do for NYG? Jacobs on the Raiders? Bijon on the Falcons?
??? All of those teams took RBs without having a rock solid option at QB. Jacobs was actually a Pro Bowl player for years in Oakland, as was Saquon. Their problem was QB. You’re also comparing draft picks of RBs (outside of Bijan) when RBs weren’t valued as highly as they are now. You’re completely dismissing the fact that RB is slowly creeping up as a high position value since defenses are playing more two high than ever before AND have lighter, faster players on defense because of the spread so now teams are going 12 personnel and running it down team’s throats.
I think the only team in the final 4 this year that weren’t run heavy was the Rams. You’re making an arse of yourself and no one is bothering picking apart how retarded your posts sound because they feel sorry for you.

The question is positional value vs pick. This draft is different because there are no blue chip players except for Love and Downs, which are not traditional positional value in the top 10

Somebody piss in your cornflakes this morning? Proximo and I are for the most part in agreement if you could actually read.
You do realize responding with "bruh bruh bruh" just makes it seem like you have less of a point right?
I suggest you should:

What did I say that was retarded? Run heavy team means more than just having a good RB.

If you could think just a little more then maybe your brain would remember the Broncos. And the opposing RB was Rhamondre Stevenson who split carries.
So the only run heavy team was the SB winning team with the #1 offense in the League? Gotcha. Oh and KW had less than half the rushing TD's on his team. So again its more about everything else than 1 specific RB? Thanks.

I've provided fair arguments/ concerns and all I asked for was a fair one in return. Proximo was the closest and we found some pretty clear common ground.
You've now spent several posts just going after me with insults. I'm not gonna frick you bro.

Hopefully no one is going blind on any one pic. It's unfamiliar drafting territory for us as we will 100 % pass on a great/elite player picking 8th this year. Cannot wait for draft day here. Gonna be awesome lol

No fricking shite retard. But you’re acting like the Saints are going to trot out the same OL that they did last year. By every metric they had one of the worst run blocking groups of guards in the entire NFL AND THEN McCoy went down which made it worse.
But the fact remains that even if they improve the interior OL, which they will, the RB room doesn’t even have the caliber of players they would need to have a good run game even if the OL was better. We haven’t had a player in the backfield capable of taking a run 80 yards for a TD since Mark Ingram. As great as AK was, he was only ever that type of player the first two years of his career and then Ingram left. We haven’t had a legit threat in the backfield that defenses have to seriously gameplan for in 7 years. Having that type of threat opens up some much for the offense.
Don’t believe me? Go watch the Eagles Super Bowl run. Hurts had some of the easiest completions of his life during that run. Why wouldn’t we want that for Shough? Sure, I’ll concede that if they improve the OL and just kept the same dudes they’d be better than last year, but that doesn’t mean they would be good, or elite like the 2024 Eagles. You can argue against positional value all you want and we all know even Love would struggle behind the OL we had last year. It’s asinine to think an improved OL + Love would be a mistake. Actually, borderline idiotic
I feel like I’m arguing with a fricking wall.

Well...have faith in the time the same people are putting in for the draft.

You could have just started with all this and the insult hurling wouldn't have been necessary. I never said the Eagles didn't improve with Saquon. He 100% made a difference. But you have to acknowledge that they were just in the SB with a backup and that their team as a whole had alot less holes than us. It is not comparable until we fix the position holes. You can't use 1 side of that argument and ignore the entire side that my argument is based on.

I agree. But you can't say its the best option when you literally need other things to happen for it to be effective. Please tell me you can understand that as you are admitting he would be ineffective with current circumstances. That right there should be enough to make you think twice.
You also admit that if we improved the OL then any RB would still benefit compared to last year.
If you combine both of those things you'd understand that getting Bailey/ Downs/ Delane can have a bigger impact than a RB. Add in the fact that we may not have a true CB1 or DL1 and RB is not looking like the best move.

It will for sure be a fun one!
The only way we maximize Love's value is with a better OL and the only way other players have a higher value than Love is if we maximize the OL and RB is a lower priority.
It is a very tricky situation in reality. We have to upgrade for Love to be worth it but once we make those upgrades it may not be worth it compared to other players.
It certainly isn't an easy decision and blindly wanting Love for his individual play without considering every single other aspect is still no bueno.
Never said he will be a bust, never said I'd melt, just said there should be better options for the value. Once we have this upgraded OL then it becomes more true.
Its a lose lose. OL gets better and we want Love more but need him less.

I think it is as simple as people wanting a player with a top 10 grade vs reaching for a guy with a mid to late 1RD grade, when you can get a similar caliber player with your next few picks.
This is specifically how the following positions are situated: OL, DL, edge, WR, CB. There are a log jam of players at these positions that are similarly graded from about pick 15 to pick 60 or so.

Holy shite man. This was 8 fricking years ago. 7 years if you want to compare it to the Eagles last year. They had a very different roster. I know it’s hard to believe but the league is a lot different than it was then.

You don’t know that lol it’s impossible to know that. I’m not arguing those players aren’t elite but the defense wasn’t that big of an issue last year, especially once Chase Young was back. It was a lack of weapons and a bad interior OL. I think anyone can argue Love + an upgrades at interior OL would have more of an impact than Downs/Delane. Those are great players but the offense needs playmakers. Shough is good but he ain’t Brady. You’re not going to win very many games if you don’t give him any weapons.
The defense last year was keeping the team in games and winning games. I’m not saying don’t add talent there, but one issue at a time. The defense went from being one of the worst to being above average in just one season with Staley

Exactly.
Sure, Tate, Tyson and Lemon are the top 3 guys but it’s very close between them and the next tier of guys. And you can say the same thing with the other positions you mentioned, even Delane. Delane is very good but there’s solid depth there.
Vs guys like Downs and Love who are considered top 3 players in the ENTIRE draft and there’s a steep drop off in those positions after those guys. And that’s coming from someone who loves Emmanuel McNeil-Warren (another safety.)
Love isn’t a Josh Jacobs. He’s closer to Bijan and Saquon (even though those guys were/are better.) he’s the type of player that can become the identity of your team.

No doubt but to act like they haven't had an elite OL and DL that entire time is asinine. We do not.
I get both sides, I'm trying to find middle ground with the people blindly advocating for Love strictly due to his raw talent.

I can understand this POV but Downs/ Bailey are on the same level and would be better options.
The value of Love vs Delane leans Love.
The value of Love vs Delane + improved OL + losing Alontae leans Delane.
Calling that a reach is a reach, especially when you consider external factors and impact.

Downs and Bailey would be considered. Bailey may even slip post-workouts. He’s a bit stiff
The edge class is loaded. There will be really good players in 2nd/3rd
I would take Downs over Love. I’d consider Bain & Bailey but as I said, the strength of that position group is gaining helium.

We are all in agreement that WR is a no go.
We are mainly in agreement with this order:
Bailey
Downs
Love
Delane
The disagreement is whether Delane + picks has more value/ impact than Love.
Realistically if Delane is a true #1 CB then that's the bigger reward but for sure the bigger risk.

Their OL was mostly the same but their DL, and for a matter of fact, MOST of those two SB rosters were different.
With Banks, Fuaga and McCoy, one big FA signing at Guard, and then drafting one in the 3rd/4th could put you on that level one day. They’re closer to having a really good OL than not, esp with the cap space they’re about to have.
And even despite that, the Eagles had a lot of injuries and just an overall downgrade in OL performance to the point they weren’t even top 5 as a unit, maybe not even top 10. And Saquon still had 1k and 7 TDs
If you wanna argue not taking Love because of the OL, that’s fine but don’t pound your fricking chest for Downs and Delane over Fano or some of the other elite OL players.
