I've known people do much worse with nothing to offer. DB is a good man that's done a lot for the state. I'm not going to judge him solely based off of this. Anyone that does is a simpleton. Plain and simple. Do I like how he's handled himself lately? No, but I still think highly of him. He messed up. So what! Time to move on. I can't think of any other Saint more worthy of a Mulligan.

I heard your voice as Archer for that entire post.
That's pretty awesome.

I pretty much picture you as a drunken a-hole with very limited knowledge concerning a menial task job with visions of pseudo intellectualism.

Drew Brees is a fraud.
By caving to the mob, he just showed he has no shoulders, which is extremely disappointing being he's the face of the franchise.
For ANYONE to crawfish as bad as he has is an embarrassment. He should be embarrassed.
His legacy is tarnished as far as I'm concerned and he can go frick himself in retirement. I frankly don't give a shite if he has any association with Louisiana.
frick him.

Just what would you have Brees do? He walked back his comments regarding kneeling in protest. Would you have the man lose his businesses due to looting, riots, and arson? Have him leave Louisiana after he retires, and relocate his business ventures to other states?

quote:No one is discounting what Brees has done for the Louisiana both with financial investments, gifts and his personal time. Its not about being butt hurt. The man made a statement from his heart, it was a respectful statement and he even explained why he felt the way he did. The man was vilified and destroyed by his own teammates who know what kind of person he is in private away from the media. They didn't care they attacked him publicly because he said he didn't agree with kneeling. I understand why he apologized but I don't agree with it and have lost a little respect for him. You know he didn't in 24 hours change his feelings on kneeling. He should have stuck to his beliefs. I am disappointed in him, I thought he had more backbone than that. Nothing he said was wrong, but he folded like a cheap suit.
People here need to get over their butt hurt, and realize that Brees has been great for this state, and is investing in our state with meaningful businesses and providing much needed jobs in those communities.

He didn’t just fold he trotted his wife out to let us white people know we are the problem.

Somebody not good at math.
Will the facility have a place for Drew to kiss BLM arse or kneel during the anthem?

What you “angry” goofballs (On both sides) don’t understand, is that his quote about the anthem had nothing to do with George Floyd’s death. The reporter asked one question and gave it to the public out of context. Now the man has two worlds colliding against him for opposite reasons. So,I do agree with the o.p. “Get Over It,” and GET OVER YOURSELVES!

TO the OP. Brees started it all by saying what he felt which no one should have forced him to apologize for it. He said what he feels. And then due to pressure from black athletes and the NFL and all the humbug you mentioned he tried to save face and apologize. He should have thought about everything you mentioned before he made his first statement. He obviously wasnt concerned about all that when he said what he said. ONLY after all the backlash from the whinning arse blacks did he apologize. I lost respect for him for apologizing as I am a retired Veteran who was wounded in combat so I bled for this country. His freedom of speech was there and no man should have shut him up.

Everyone who scolded him over his, at worst benign and at best admirable, statements did just that.

You’re honestly turning your back on Brees over this?
But I lost a ton of respect for him and for the current and former teammates that turned on him immediately.
I'll be cheering for the Saints. . .but also cheering for any big licks laid on certain Saints players.
