So trading 2 picks for 4-6 sacks is a win?
how many sacks would you think this would garner?

Team a has 2018 14th pick
Team b has 2018 27th pick, and two first round picks in 2019 and an additional 5th round pick
I like team bs scenario better
All that matters is how good Davenport will be, all the good trade/bad trade stuff is just silly, nobody knows, we'll find out later.

Right because his legs will fall off and the only year he will ever play is 2018.

Why do people keep saying we gahe up two firsts?

I’m not even saying this actual trade won’t work in our favor
I am saying I think statistically, team b in my scenario has the better chance of ending up with a good player/players
You feel me?

we have a closing window with Brees
we leveraged our future because of this closing window
he has to immediately produce to justify the cost

I think the window goes through 2019. I said 3 yrs left last year, this year I'm sticking to my guns, 2 years left.
Posted on 4/26/18 at 9:54 pm to SlowFlowPro
No he doesn't. He has to turn out to be a good player and have a good career.

2 years is all we can expect. either get it done this year or next

They gave up more than Tampa received for a top ten pick. Also means no Brees replacement in the 2019 draft.

If it's a "win now" move like some are saying then we need more than 4 sacks
Ya that’s a win. Situational pass rusher is needed. That is valuable to an already decent defense.
Posted on 4/27/18 at 12:47 am to Mr. Hangover
The only way this trade favors the Saints is if they make a deep playoff run and Davenport has at least an average season
Posted on 4/27/18 at 12:57 am to Vlatket
If we traded the 32 pick and a late 5th rounder for a perennial pro bowl pass rusher then it’s a great trade. If Brees gets hurt and we go 4-12 and give GB a top ten pick and Davenport is a bust then it’s a disaster.
No way to know until next year. It’s a lot to give up, but I think it shows we aren’t afraid to hit reset for a couple of years and restock on talent once this last mini window with Brees is over.
