With this additional 1st we have I would definitely start considering Mahomes with our 2nd.

Mahomes maybe there at 32. As bad as this team needs defensive help, I'd rather the team take a QB at 32 with potential over wandering in the desert another 40 years searching for a QB after Brees.

I am just not a believer in taking a replacement QB behind a aging star. Worked out in Green Bay even though it was an absolute mess.

I think we would at best end up with 1 year on the Rookie contract to evaluate him post Drew, and it would force our hand with Drew if he does decide to hang around for Watson's entire contract.

Absolutely. Would consider taking him at 11. Under the lights against the best Defense in College football he took it to them on the biggest stage twice. I don't know why he isn't considered a top five lock. QB needs it between the ears and from all I've seen he's got that on lock.

Absolutely.

People can say what they want about "selling out to win now", but we say that every year and every year our defense is poo.

If you think it's bad now, wait until Brees is gone and we don't have a QB to replace him. That corner at #32 won't seem like such a stellar pick anymore.

I would take him at 11. Signing him would bring way more optimism for our future. A guy like him sitting a few years and learning would go a long ways. We gonna keep Brees for as long as he plays at a high level imo, even if we start signing him to 1-2 year contracts, but at some point he will be done. I think Watson with a few years of sitting and learning can be a great player.

Unless they think a QB is a can't miss starter in the NFL I will pass this year.

chase daniels was a hell of a good backup for us and has shown he has the skill to deserve a starting role. he went to the chiefs to be their starter but then they had alex smith fall in their hands so chase got screwed and never got another chance anywhere but the is out there and the team his is on wants to trade him.

before giving up a 1st round pick on deshawn I would give a 7th rnd pick for chase and if nothing else he gives us a solid backup QB to replace our backup who is 36 yrs old and that needs to be remembered too.

we wont just need one QB we are about to be needing two QBs in the next year or two

I think the better discussion is would they take ANY QB at #32 and which ones? The QB class is so weak it's hard to tell. To me only Trubisky or Watson might present value enough to not turn down. Kizer or Mahomes might be drafted before then but I do not see the value that demands the selection with them.

The Saints are not going to draft any "future" contributors in this draft. After three 7 - 9 seasons with a top 3 offense and a Hall of Fame QB the coach and front office have to win now. Another losing season Brees probably leaves looking for one more ring and Payton and Loomis out. Watson not falling to 32 anyway.

I take him at 11th pick for sure. If not taking corners with both picks.

If the saints go sign brandon carr and stop being cheap! Wont have to worry bout a corner till the second round! A proven cb who can check julio... Deshaun jackson... And other elite recievers in our conference.. DE is gonna be da 1#pick... We're about to sign Alex orakpo... Then that frees u up to do watever with the 32 pick maybe a safety/OL/Te
