I know I know. Hopefully we get a good LT next year and learn to run block, and you never know, Reggie might take his running between the tackles ability to the next level. Unfortunately defenses in the NFL arent as slow as the ones he played in the puff-10 week in and week out in college.

yeah. the speed of the defenses amazes me. Bush has an extremely hard time to get the corner and get separation on plays when he cuts. some of the plays the lbs make on him are insane. I was a big defender of bush's running ability in the past 2 seasons because he actually did very good for duece when he went down but i glaring need for a consistent running game has changed my mind a little

he is pretty dynamic in the open field in his own right and just as fast as bush
I think he is very comparable to Reggie. This is NOT a knock on Bush. I think Norwood is a very underrated player that should be more involved in their offense.

Is part of your brain missing??? It actually has nothing to do with the thread...I'm just wondering in general after reading some of your posts

SFP = reggie bush hater
and every time reggie gets the ball he is swarmed to. he's not the RB that will run people over, thats not why we drafted him. he's good in open space. if he's met by 5 defenders 2 yards past the line of scrimmage, he's not going very far. not even jesus could get out of that situation.

How long will it take for you to realize that as long as SP is head coach, no running back will be extremely effective. Adrian Peterson wouldn't get a 100 yd rushing game on this pass-happy offense.

I'll take Bush
The Falcons had to bring in Turner b/c Norwood was not a complete RB. Therefore, if I were to choose a skat type RB like Bush and Norwood...I would choose Bush 10 times out of 10.

uhh, yeah, uhh thats my point SFP. If I had to choose a skat type back, that can't carry the load, I would choose Reggie every time!

Norwood - 6 career TDs
Bush - 23 career TDs
Nice call SFP

being used in a similar role, i believe norwood is averaging about 3 more yards per carry

bush is around 3.6 ypc career
norwood is around 6.1 ypc career
their career numbers are around the same for this season as well
don't quote me on that though

Nice point. The YPC stat is much more important than 4 times the # of TDs.
As a pure runner, sure Norwood may be better. But, I can name 100 RBs who are better pure runners than Bush.
That's not the question. The question is would I take Norwood over Bush. The answer is Hell no. I'm not an idiot.

TDs are often a function of role
hell norwood isn't even a PR i don't believe

honest question
what is reggie SO much better than norwood at other than punt returning?
you've already conceded he's a better runner than reggie
he's obviously dangerous on swing passes (see: the saints game), but he's not used as a primary guy like reggie is

let it go SFP

quote:SFP, disregard your hate for Reggie and please tell me you don't think Norwood is better than Reggie. Regardless if Reggie isn't "SO" much better at anything , he's better than Norwood and anyone who would trade Reggie for Norwood really is an idiot. I'm typically not one to waste my time "e-name calling" but seriously...Reggie would run circles around Norwood all over the field.

Being a Saints and Falcons fan (don't ask me to explain) and having watched BOTH these guys just about every game of their careers I will say Norwood is EXTREMELY underrated. He is a great runner unlike Reggie but isn't as good in open space as Reggie off of passes or punt returns because he doesn't have moves like Reggie. He has the same speed as Reggie and does return kicks pretty well.
They both have their advantages over another.
Norwood - Has shown to be more durable and a better runner out of the backfield. Doesn't fumble much (twice in 3-year career).
Bush - Better in open space and making people miss making him a bigger threat to catch passes out of the backfield and return punts.
