Expected, but still interesting. A lot of chatter about Belicheck leaving U of NC after June 1 and going to the Raiders (his payout drops from $10m to $1m post June 1). Leaves a lot of qualified guys still looking for HC jobs if that happens. I never considered Vrabel to be a realistic choice for the Saints, although I wish he had been so.

I read if they didn't fire mayo, vrabel was willing to sit out another year in hope of NE job opening up.

The Saints in their crap situation never had a chance in hell to hire a coach like Mike Vrabel, we better be content to receiving scraps thanks to the incompetent Mickey Loomis

I was hoping Johnson went to New England making Vrabel available for the Saints.

At this point I’ve just accepted that Aaron Glenn will be the head coach and hope he is a good one.

Out of the realistic choices, he might be the best. Brady is too young and was horrible in Carolina (granted, a lot of coaches are), and Kingsberry didn't do much in AZ as HC. Ben Johnson is not coming to NO.

Great, Shoulda fired Allen last year and got him then. He might have considered us thinking Mayo was gonna be there a few years.

Loomis just sucks so bad.

Even if the saints had a perfect cap they would not have had a chance at Vrabel as long a NE was looking for a coach

Really glad to see this for Mike. He and his wife are good friends to my wife and I. Our kids went to school and played sports together when he was in Houston. Really good people, his wife is a gem, hope he does well with Pats.

No team is going to go 5 months without a coach, to save $9 million dollars.
