I have no problems with this. Losing a 5 to get a falling guy is ok by me.
I have a gut feeling Grayson will be drafted if still there in the 3rd by the way, so maybe they stay put with 2 picks there

I really dont know how I feel about this. I've been saying Payton should start looking for a QB that he loves just in case we have a shot to draft that player and develop him. But man, with all the holes we have, (add in the fact that we didn't necessarily go for need at pick #13 either) this is tough to get excited about.

I guess I think of it as now Grayson will get 3-4 years to learn so that when the qb change finally comes, there isn't a severe drop off so that we could continue to compete. Instead of waiting 2 years to take a mid round qb and then we suck for 1-2 years with him.
I think we vastly overrate how often third round picks come in and make an impact anyway. People are acting like we just missed out on an all pro somewhere when it's probably more likely the pick ends up as cie grant or Alfred Fincher.

Williams isn't a bad pick. He was a 2nd round talent. He's a good tackler and a bump and run specialist. Not so great in zone but he won't be asked to do that so who fricking cares

nah, i think we missed out on a wr that can come in and catch balls from a hof qb. he doesnt need to be the #1 guy, just needs to contribute. This guy will not contribute, and neither will this next pick.
And veteran qbs good enough can be had. If we need a 1 or 2 year fix.

Well after Dorsett went we didn't have any receivers Payton was looking for in that range.
