Dalvin Cook just grabbed his knee in a non contact injury for MN. We should trade AP back to them

Peterson will prove to be valuable later in the season when people inevitably get banged up. Payton might be intentionally keeping his carries down so he is fresher later on. Give it more time than the first few weeks of the season.

Trade Peterson to the Vikings for a 7th rounder that becomes a 5th if the Vikings make the playoffs.

Cook done for the year with a torn ACL

THe man had 4 carries. Di you expect him to rush for 100 yards each play

the man has 4 carries because in a pass happy offense, he cannot block.

I agree with what Hoodoo Man said in another thread. He's pretty much depth at this point. Ingram & Kamara should be our 1-2 punch. I guess I could see Peterson getting carries when it's 3rd & 1 or 4th & 1. He still runs with power & falls forward. Other than that...Ingram & Kamara are just better RB's in every facet of the game. Peterson looked pretty bad in pass protection as well against the Dolphins.

I'd rather not trade him in case Ingram or Kamara gets injured, but if a team gave up good value...I guess I'd make the trade. RB's are going down left & right around the league, so a team might come calling. A 7th rounder wouldn't be enough for me to give up the depth. If a team was dumb enough to offer a 5th, I'd take that in a heartbeat. Probably even a 6th.

Good news is that if we cut him in 2018...it's just 1.25 mil in dead money & we save 3.5 mil against the cap.

He is pretty much depth. I see him getting carries late in games where we keep it on the ground to burn the clock and preserve a lead.

I posed this question yesterday: what does AP give you that Trey Edmunds couldn’t?

I got nothing.

We've never seen Edmunds run against a 1st string defense before. That being said...I wouldn't be surprised if he gave us similar production to Peterson.

Also, Edmunds gives you 2 things that Peterson doesn't give you. Special teams & an udfa rookie salary(465k).

He looked really slow yesterday. First time it seemed REALLY apparent was when he tried to go outside and lost yardage. I thought maybe it was just his stride looking weird or something until a bit later I saw Ingram bounce one outside (to the right) on the next drive and he looked LIGHTNING Fast in comparison... and we all know Ingram isn't that fast.

So yeah. Hate to admit it but AP is washed.
