He hasn’t been consistent for sure. If you are signing him for a 1 year deal to compete/rotate with Davenport and as insurance when one of those guys gets hurt, I like it

I don't mind it as depth at all, unless it is an absurd price. I'm just saying the media is attributing his 'name' to star power, which I figured has long since run its course.

On passing downs, I'm sure you could get cam, Davenport, and Clowney on the field. This would be tough to block

He's only 27 years old

Clowney in his first career 75 games
8 FF
32 sacks
71 TFL
80 QB hits

Can Jordan’s first 75 games
6 FF
36 sacks
42 TFL
64 QB hits

2 more forced fumbles
4 less sacks
29!! more TFL
16!! more QB hits

Safe to say Clowney > Cam at this juncture in their careers

Cam def a late bloomer. Hope Clowney does the same if we get him. Cam also had no help for years on the line, when he got help his numbers got way better. Clowney’s numbers next to JJ Watt concern me

He's a damn good player when he's healthy. He's easily worth the money if he stays healthy, but that's just the risk you have to take. Big risk...big reward. It is what it is.

Come on

If teams thought that Clowney wouldn't be on the street in September.

Still, he is good when healthy and can really help us.

Cam played 85% of his first 75 games with will smith/galette

His best season came when Watt played 5 games. There was a stretch where clowney played 30 games to Watt’s 8.

Nobody thinks he is a star which is why he is not seeing the money he wants.

Sean has promised to make him a star, and that might be worth money

He'll be in Tennessee by the end of the weekend because of that.

Clowney’s career grades/ranks among edge defenders (2014-2019):
89.4 PFF Grade (15th)
91.4 RunD (4th)
81.6 Pass-Rush (27th)

People are obsessed with sack numbers. There were people here who thought Vic Beasley was worth $50 mil

Facts are clowney disrupts behind the LOS in both facets of the game

It's not all about money with Clowney
Dude just sacrificed millions just to miss training camp

I think he will probably be a saint
The Titans have been there and he still hasn't signed with them

The sacks haven't been there the last couple of years but you are right, Clowney is great against the run and is always in the back field
There is a reason all these teams want him
A motivated Clowney is scary
Also he was hurt most of the yr q

CMC, Gurley, Fournette

Julio/Ridley, Evans/Godwin, Moore/Anderson/Samuel

The importance of playing the run and affecting the QB has never been greater. The time is now

I could argue that Cam is on par w. Watt, and thus frees Clowney up for similar 1-1 matchups

Russini:

I’m told Clowney has been advised to wait for cut day to wrap up this weekend, as teams involved, including others, could possibly have extra money to pay the free agent. Either way, its Clowney’s call.

Kind of tells you all you need to know. He’s waiting through cut day to see if anyone else offers more. Per reports, the Titans are offering more than us. I think that writing is on the wall.
