I think Powell is Haralson's backup. I assume they're trying to mold him into our run stopping LB on the outside.

So who's our leader, I'm not picking a fight, I love the saints but I just don't see the great moves some of you are seeing.

Lofton was decent against the run.

This. He made a few great tackles. However, most of his were 4 yards deep. We can argue all day that if the DL was better, he would have had a bigger impact, but his job is to fill the holes. He didn't do that with efficiency.

Nothing they have done so far has been deemed "great". But they are expected and make sense.

The real geniuses are in Seattle and New England. But Loomis does just fine, even though he gives us all stress induced heart attacks.

Never been the leader we wanted him to be? So who has? Where's that leader? All I see is us cutting vets every year and hope our draft plays out well. Our draft was one of the worst last year and we haven't been going in the right direction in drafts recently.

It's not a "great move", but it is a necessary move considering Loftons cap hit and the fact that he's a 2 down LBer that can't play on passing plays.

Just gotta do it.

Lofton wasn't very good?

No not really

Leadership and was great against the run.

His leadership didn't seem to make too much impact did it?

And no he was only decent against the run

quote:

Yeah, I understand against the pass he was liability but you can't have it both ways without paying a good bit of money... Which we do not have.

If he was at least adequate at covering fine but he's awful.

If he was, we wouldn't have been complaining about a lack of leadership last year.

good question. Just someone talking out of their arse id imagine. Lofton is really a guy we need to keep especially after losing all our vets last year(and we see where that put us)

hey at least we have team captain Junior Galette still. Im sure he'll lead us.

Perfect... So all of you who are ok with lofton leaving... What happens at lb and who's that leader? Love how no one can answer that.

we'll pick some project player in the 5th round to take Lofton's place.

I'm already excited.

So who will exactly be our leaders in the locker room? JG I guess... Have no lbs but we let go our best one. Defense is going to be terrible again this year. Book it.

We can aim for Brandon Spikes and Malcolm Smith

Dude. Seriously. Where was his leadership last year? And I have no idea who plays there now. But his leadership will not be missed.

I don't really see the problem with letting some of those vets go when their production no longer matches how much they're getting paid.

They've brought some new blood in at least in terms of scouting.
