The Saints sure do like having a faith based locker room. It will be interesting to see how they respond to their new Mormon leader in a few years.

He was one of the top rated LBs in the league last year. He's a really good player.

The contract is completely fine.

He is 29, has one good PFF graded year, and is not particularly good in coverage. $9M/yr is a LOT of money for an ILB that doesn't excel in coverage.

It’s smart FA. Not getting too tied down in any one player

Could be good, he's older and hasn't been good in coverage. Not sure how I feel about him suddenly becoming good in a contract year

HOWEVER, he is not good at all in pass coverage. Not his forte and shouldn't be in coverage pretty much at all.

exact reason you keep Craig

I still think we go LB in Round 1 of the draft and get a guy like Evans or Vander Esch. Both are good in coverage and they’ll also likely be the BPA at that point too

if anything you cut Klein, he was not good last year and would save $6 mil or so on the cap this season

Klein is definitely the player in the most danger. Only saves $4.1m this season (as a post 6/1 cut, with $2m dead in 2019) or $2.1m if we don't count him as a post 6/1 cut (no dead money next year).

Teo and Robertson are better players on better deals, Anzalone might be special if he stays healthy. He made some mistakes that you'd expect from a rookie (that didn't have much playing time in college), but definitely showed flashes. Plus he looks like he's very capable of running with TE's.
