Guess it depends who is better player at lb vs DE. I think end a larger need at this point.

Pass rusher >>> linebacker in the 1st.

5th year option and value favors the DE moreso than the LB.

Thats assuming neither are reaches of course.

Problem is there might not be a pass rusher worth taking over a LB in the first

I would take Evans and Vander Esch over Hubbard, probably the only other guy available there

There's also TE, WR, and QB on the other side of the ball we could improve.

It's nice to look at it and say nothing is in extreme dire need of talent

Anzalone is going to be good.
Definitely think he gets way to much hate for the injuries
You could see in his limited action last year that he has what it takes to be the answer on the weakside

Because he has an extensive injury history going to back to his college days. So what if he’s a good player if he can’t stay on the field.

What do Manti teo
Brent grimes
Michael Crabtree
Demaryius Thomas all have in common.
All ruptured or tore their Achilles.
Think everyone is shitting on okafor for no reason.
He might not be the same the first year back but that's why he won't cost alot.
Just wish we could have gotten wilkerson for 5 mil to help with that first yr

It's not hate or shitting on him. Most guys either don't come back or aren't nearly the same when they do.

The severity of it is very important and I don't know if they ever stated how severe it was in Okafor's case.

All Okafor needs to do is be his best at the latter part of year.

The last tight end to do anything at all his rookie year was gronk, and even that year was kind of shitty. TE's take a while to get going, even the "cant miss" prospects.

I think it's too late to draft a TE for Drew; by the time he gets into contribution mode, drew will be done.

Engram did well last year, but it's rare (and even Jimmy took a year). Don't see a rookie TE this year that will blow it up.

Yeah didn't mean shitting on him just don't think he will get alot and I'm sure they know where he s at in his recovery.
But this demario Davis signing scares me dude was not good the two years before this.
Weird for the lightbulb to come on in age 29 season
I don't mind signing him as the Mike but the money seems high.
Would have spent that money
elsewhere.
Zach Brown would have been nice
P rob signing is fine

Mississippi boy who is Steve McNair's cousin.

Many Jets fans say he was solid last season. That he has intangibles that PFF doesn't even grade, however they feel he was a 1 year wonder because of his contract year.. Hopefully just being a little sour, but who knows.

I dont really take issue with his age, though.

He’s 29 and just had his first good year. If he was 25 or 26 that’s a different story and I could take the breakout at face value. Or if he had a good career and was just 29, I would not have a problem. It’s the combination of age and limited production that makes me really question the contract in combination with the positional value of ILB and lack of coverage skills.

Having a breakout season at age 28 after 6 years in the league and crediting it to a change in training/diet just raises huge red flags for me.

Pff is not the be all end all, and if you look at his production he has been good throughout his career.

He averages over 100 tackles a year since becoming a full time starter his second season.

I'd say Nigel Bradham was similar enough. Inconsistent early on in his career, lost snaps because of it. Starter for philly at 27 when he turned it on, Davis was 28.
2015: 39.2 PFF
2016: 85.8 PFF
2017: 80.6 PFF

They're both going to be 29 when season starts. Bradham got 5/40, Davis got 3/24.

I'd say Bradham was better in his early years than Davis though

Bradham was really good when he got a starting gig under Schwartz in 2014. The only bad year he had was the that 2015 year with Rexy, but that was supposedly a scheme thing. Bradham has also always had coverage skills.
