If we can get us either a legit right or left guard in free agency, our O-Line next year may be top 5 in the league. Then go get you some skilled players in the draft. We can turn this around quicker than I thought (if Shough truly is the guy)

Don’t forget that we are still a little cap strapped in 2026.
We aren't. Even counting the current dead money hits of Jordan, Davis, and Hill we can clear over $56 mil in space to make any moves we want to without cutting 1 person. If any of those 3 get extended we can save even more. Cuts even more on top. Extensions like with Olave even more.

The question is how much do we actually want to clear and how much do we want to go in. If you feel you have your QB, you have 3 more cheap years so you really need to go in now, but make smart deals.

Ummmm…not even close. 1) as has been pointed out in this thread, there aren’t a lot of OGs in FA and they will likely be priced out of our range. 2) If Ruiz is still starting, you are a bottom tier OL and while the Fortner trade was a major coup for us, he is mid at best. 3) McCoy is really really good, but he’s been injury prone the last two years. We have to have more consistency to be a legit top tier OL.

In all honestly, for us to have a top tier OL, we need to draft a top RT and move Fuaga to RG. Fuaga was good at LT last year, but he’s been bad at RT this year. I just don’t think drafting a RG and expecting Fuaga to be elite is realistic. Ruiz needs to be moved to backup center. He plays better there and that’s about as good as we can get from him. Fortner would be the weak link at that point.

Yup. Im on that side as well but I would be just as happy with a really good offensive or defensive playmaker.

Whatever they select in the first, I hope they dont in the later rounds and vice versa
