At #8, Best Player available. And that will likely be Love.

#8 - RB Jeremiyah Love
#42 - ED/DE Gabe Jacas
#73 - WR Skyler Ball

If you pick in the top 10, you should only be looking at QB, OT, DE or CB, unless there is an absolute generational player at another position.

If you go Love at #1, you have to sell out for the offense and go OG, TE, WR and OT the rest of the draft. It would suck to go sexy pick #1 and watch him get stonewalled and hurt because our OL sucks and we have no weapons for our QB to throw to. Basically Omarion Hampton or Ashton Jeanty. (I know Jeanty had a decent stats, but where did that get the Raiders this year?)

No we don't. CKM and Mickey will fix the interior O line in FA.

Link? Who are all these great OGs in free agency that we can actually afford that everyone keeps talking about? We probably aren’t even going to be able to sign Taylor this offseason, much less two good OGs.

SI article supporting the many sports reporters predicting that the Saints will be aggressive in FA to fix the O line

Not that you will accept anything that doesn't support your own narrative, but here goes.

Restructuring:
- Chase Young
- Juwan Johnson
- Justin Reid

already gets you 4mil under the cap

That's ignoring the carry-over $$$ from 2025 and if we left the void hits of Cam (18.76mil), DD (14.29mil), and Foster (1.4mil). If we were to re-sign Cam & DD you can safely move another 12mil (6m/ea) if yoou were to give them 1yr extensions and manuever their $ via signing bonus over 3-4 years.

That'll then give you somewhere around 30mil in space. That's before making harder decisions (kamara - old, ruiz - bad play, mccoy - injury prone, and granderson - is he even worth it)

If we were to not re-sign Taylor, its because he isn't worth the cost he may or may not fetch. Just like Adebo wasn't worth it (3/54mil)

htran nailed it. Except he left off we can restructure Grando (8.6mm), McCoy ($6.9mm) also who will be contributors in the future thus are good candidates.

We’ll have as much money as we want to spend, where are you getting we’re cap strapped? Just muh Mickey doesn’t know what he’s doing?

As for FA guards, Wyatt Teller (proj. $10.7mm aav), David Edwards ($19.9mm proj. aav) are decent options

That means you either have to pay Taylor or replace him. And don’t forget Olave.

This is what I’m talking about. You have 3/5ths of an OL to fix and you have dead money if you move on from 2/3rds of that 3/5ths. There isn’t an easy fix for the OL.

RB, LB, DT are like speedboats you can fix with one good signing or hit in the draft. OL is like a tanker that turns slowly and takes time to fix.

I expect Taylor to get a lot of attention in FA and probably sign a big contract somewhere else. His nickel role can be filled by any of several rookies in this draft ( IMO Jalon Kilgore is the perfect fit). I feel like Kool-Aid and Riley will be fine on the outsides and Reid and Sanker could be two of the best safeties pairings in the NFL.

Hell I really don't even think an immediate replacement for Cam is necessary with the players we have. We can see how they develop in this system before making that a priority. I do think we need another Bog body that can blow up the middle of the o line though.

Downs is the straw that stirs the drink. He unlocks so much for this defense.

Because we run an off-man zone concept, we are highly dependent on safety play. If you have an elite safety paired with a better than average pass rush, that defense becomes unruly.

Chase Young looks like he took that step. Bresee, for as much as shite as he catches, creates pressure.

I'm changing my stance on the #8 pick

I don't care who we get out of one of these 8 players. At least one will be on the board at 8 and we will get a stellar player.

In no particular order.

LB/Edge Arvell Reese
S Caleb Downs
WR Carnell Tate
RB Jeremiyah Love
OT Spencer Fano
Edge David Bailey
Edge Keldric Faulk
WR Makai Lemon

Left off QB's obviously because the Saints are not in the market for at 1st round QB

Left off Jordyn Tyson because of his injury history.

Left off Rueben Bain because I just have a feeling this guy is going to be one of those players that gets hyped and never pans out as high as he should.

I read where one expert said that the Saints need to draft a running back, and suggested Love from Notre Dame. We already have a Notre Dame running back, Audic Estime, and quite frankly he did pretty good. Plus we have Devin Neal, Hull, and Miller. We are good there.

What we need is for Shough to have more time to stand in the pocket and make dart throws down the field. This guy is close to being a franchise player, we need to protect him.

We need picks that while they played college, they didn't allow any ior few sacks... ergo Jake Slaugther from Florida or Pat Coogan from Indiana. They can play either Center or Guard. And with linemen, we seem able to keep salary ranges within our cap. This isn't rocket science.

I’d take out Faulk because he seems like more of a “potential” than production guy. I haven’t been impressed when I watched him.

I’m on the fence about Tate and Lemon. Tate is high floor low ceiling IMO, and I don’t know if Lemon’s a true #1 either. I think there are really good WRs in this draft. I’m not sure there are elite WRs.

Add Mauigoa to your list and I’m in agreement. I could even be talked into Delane at CB.

I know Reese and Downs will be gone so im leaving Love or Bailey.

I think we can get a Guard/Tackle later. I want some one who can make an impact on a game.
