Pretty much.

You just can't make the trade right now because this team is primed for a super bowl run. If we were in the beginning stages of rebuilding, it would be a no brainer.

Actually, from the get go, I said that it was poor player evaluation and unwillingness to spend money in FA to build depth, in which you then pulled some comment out your butt that you believe you can't build depth in FA. You then went on to add that yall find better late round talent and UDFA, which again went with my original argument. Yes, the Julio Jones trade affected depth, but what hurt was our GM not living up to the same standard as Loomis had. So essentially, in your theory, the only difference in our depth is a 4th round pick.

I read that thread. He said none of that. You consistently argue by creating strawmen and arguments full of irrelevent facts that do not support the conclusion that you decide to make a leap for at the end.

There's no reasoning with a person who doesn't feel the need to rely on reason.

Dude doesn't like how the game is going, so he keeps moving the goal post.

I was surprised at how Luck played against us. I know we have a great defense, but Luck stared own his receivers, overthrew some easy passes, and just didn't look sharp.

Compare that to a Brees who played in his first game this season and the difference between the two was startling.

Keep in mind that Luck played the entire half and some of the third quarter as well as earlier in teh preseason and Brees went out after the first quarter, hasnt played a game yet and has been injured and missing practice:

Brees -
9/15 128 yards, 2 TDs, 0 INTs, 0 sacks

Luck:
10/18 103 yrds, 1 TD, 1 INT, 1 sack

OP is a dipshit

I didn't read all 10 pages, but you absolutely trade the two.

One of the main reasons is youth. The other is Salary difference. Imagine having another $19,000,000 dollars added to the Saints cap next season.

We could just cut drew and let Griffin play out the season under that logic.

Imagine if we cut all our starters and let the backups play. We'd have so much cap room!!!!!!!!

Consider this, what free agents were available this year. Add luck for brees and take roughly 15mil and spend it.

Is that team better than what we are fielding now?

Back when this league wasn't even a passing league, Drew Brees had his first 4000 yard season with his first year under Payton.

2006 SB Winner: Colts (Peyton Manning)

So you're saying Peyton Manning & the Colts didn't win the 2006 season by being better at the passing game? It's been a passing league for a while now.

quote:

In fact, he had almost a 1000 yards more than his best season with the chargers.

The Chargers haven't been good in a long time. It should be no surprise that a QB in a better system will thrive, this does not support your argument.

And even if Luck didn't put up any better numbers under Payton, who again I am comfortable saying is the best offensive mind in the NFL, it would still be better than the last 2 superbowl champions offense.

You are essentially saying Drew Brees is a system QB. Even when Payton was gone for the season in bountygate, he did pretty damned good. A system QB would collapse in that scenario, he still was the best player on the field that year.

You can't be that dumb... It is trading Brees for Luck (which is the topic of this post FYI) and still having $19,000,000 extra in cap space.

Quite possibly. Imagine having Luck and adding a top CB like Revis, Verner, or Talib. Or going after a top LB.

After 5 games it looks like the majority of people changed their position, they are even willing to throw in Graham.
