Someone around there knows exactly who did it.
So was it a problem dog.... we might not ever learn.

I'm not familiar with Baton Rouge dog/leash laws.
Their front yard is fenced.
Are dog allowed to be unleashed and unsupervised in a fenced front yard?
It appears someone shot the dog in a fenced front yard.
I'm no fan of the breed, not even close, but there doesn't seem to be any exigent reason to shoot the dog inside of a fenced area.

Once upon a time a guy had a couple of chows. Those chows ran around the neighborhood all the time causing mischief. One day they may or may not have come onto a neighbor's porch and attacked their dog, tearing it up pretty badly. Those two chows may or may not have come up missing a day or so later, never to be seen or heard from again.
Stories, just stories.

How high is the fence? How aggressive was the dog to people walking (?on a sidewalk?) on the other side of the fence or even in the street?
Short of hobbling the dog, how did it stay in the yard? With Pit muscles, it could jump repeatedly easily once it realized it could.

A couple is pleading for answers after they say their dog was shot and killed in their own yard along Iris Street on Sunday night.
Rumor has it that she is especially fond of loud pitbulls who bark at people all day...

We did not respond right away because we hear that all the time around here. It was not a big boom, but it sounded more like a firecracker," she said.
