Saw it yesterday closer to Africa while it was just a Low pressure system. This morning it was still very unorganized. Talk about getting it's act together in a hurry.

And this:
Why even classify this thing as a Depression?

An ASCAT
pass around 1210 UTC was not conclusive in regards to whether the
surface circulation was closed, but given the persistence of the
convection, we are assuming that the circulation is closed and
are initiating advisories at this time.
And this:

Most of the global model guidance and
the HWRF shows the system weakening and dissipating by 48 to 72
hours. The official forecast follows suit, but the cyclone could
dissipate sooner than shown here.

Anyone know the protocol for cruise ships and their routes through tropical systems?
I've heard about some ships getting tossed all over the place trying to go near a storm, whereas some will cancel ports of call for mild storms.

shite, it needs to make it to the caribbean first. The models are killing it before it makes it there. If it makes it to the W Caribbean, it will have a good chance to do something.
