What did she eat? Did she have a lot of water? Maybe some kind of filter system. I guess she shite on the side of the boat?

I bet it’s also incredibly dark at night out there if the moon isn’t out. That would play some tricks on your mind out there

The milky way on a clear sky with no man-made lights around is surprisingly bright and an amazing sight to see.

Probably from her training time in Portugal.
Maybe she passed another boat at one point.
Maybe her parents were on a boat next to her as she departed.

Rannoch makes quite a few of those boats, and ocean rowing is big in Europe.

3 Scottish brothers are rowing from South America to Australia right now too. I think they’re going to the fastest rowing voyage across the pacific if I remember correctly

A girl from Tulane is part of a group rowing across the Arctic ocean right now too. Must be a good summer for rowing

I feel certain that none of the three is as fit as you. You should give them health tips.

They’re rowing 24 hours a day on shifts. Very, very impressive stuff to be able to handle that both physically and psychologically.

I love seeing shite like that

Sigh I get so fatigued with these statements.

Not every female achievement is some type of flag planting.

Good for her though. Seems like a hard earned goal was achieved.

One of these days I'd like to come up with a witty response like this. I'll crown myself the internets winner of the day.

I mean if there ever a reason to “plant a flag” she has a reason to

It’s not like “the first wnba player to get 8 rebounds and 4 points on a Thursday on the road”

She is the youngest person to row from Europe to South America AND the first woman of any age to do it.

It’s a hell of an achievement

I knew it be a woman or the 1st black something. These stories are always so contrived.

A bunch of 240lb dudes (who miraculously, BMI conveniently doesn't apply to) shitting on a girl for rowing across the ocean.

The first person to row a boat solo across the Atlantic finally made landfall in Florida on the evening of July 19, 1969. After six months braving the open seas, he was a bit puzzled that no media was there to report on his accomplishment and nobody seemed to notice or care.

The reason? Everyone was huddled near a TV. A few hours later on that same date, July 19, 1969, the Lunar Module of the Appollo Mission touched down on the surface of the moon and Neil Armstrong took one giant leap for mankind.

His bad timing meant that he had been massively upstaged.

Why would you shite on the side of your boat when there's an entire ocean to poop in?

Also, if no one was with her how do we know she didn't throw up a little sail for the vast majority of the trip to help out?

I'm assuming someone from Guinness (or somebody else official) inspected the boat before she left and right as she came in.

Good on her!

Aside from the physical ability you have to have some insane level of mental strength and inner peace to be in the middle of the ocean all alone on a tiny arse boat link that.

We need more young ladies like this on social media and fewer slags who bang 1000 dudes for attention.
