Homicide is on scene at the Coursey incident. Doesn’t necessarily mean someone died, though.

although it helps that BRPD has a substation half a block away from the area.

They aren't on Coursey anymore, that district was moved to the HQ building on Airline.

We have a racist mayor that has emasculated the police, and judges that “punish” repeat offenders of their race by directing them to do a good deed instead of jail time. And an entire community and mainstream media that canonize career criminals that get killed while resisting arrest. How can the spread of crime be a surprise to anyone? And it is only destined to get worse. Welcome to Jackson II.

As far as substation the police work district just like sheriff. Now days a supervisor can sit in a vehicle watching vehicles by gps on a computer. You can eliminate manpower sitting behind a desk and keep that person in the field.

Perfect example of someone spouting off about something they don’t understand.

In the case that caused that little faux controversy, the individual was given the maximum sentence allowed by law. Because they had remained incarcerated pretrial, they already had served the necessary time. The judge telling them to go do a good deed was out of frustration for not having power to do more.

But I’m sure this nonsense will hang around at least as long as laymen lambasting the legal system over a woman who spilled her McDonald’s coffee...

Correct. That neighborhood is somewhat hidden, between the Fire/Police Station and Airline (across from Ascott, I think).

They park in the front yard there, walk around in slippers, and blame whitey a lot.

I worked back there for 17 years, it’s not somewhere I’d want to be after dark.

No exactly sure where the fire station is, but the neighborhood directly behind Chimes East is pretty rough as well. Not a place to get caught out late at night...
