Am I being downvoted because I posted it? Or because you mother frickers can look at a basic map?

That's because West of the Mississippi is better.
Ascension and Iberville have worked hard to market their available land for industrial users. Which is good - those are more labor intensive than the sugar cane fields and forest that exists right there now. Which means more jobs, higher GDP, and more wealth creation.
EBR is mostly filled up and there isn’t a lot of large plots available for large projects anymore. WBR and eastern AP still has a lot of space and they are gaining some new projects, but Iberville is really the frontier for the mega projects now.

The project will be held up because a couple of slaves were buried 200 years ago somewhere in the 1700 acres.

That may slightly delay it, but Tulane law environmental nuts along with friends from D.C. (EPA) will do all they can to block it because they know what’s better for locals.

It’s an environmental review. But it is for political reasons. It is going to be appealed and overturned.

You're being downvoted for both. There is no part of Ascension Parish where this plant can be located that would put Iberville Parish to the east of it. Maybe to the north, yes, but not east.

You’re being downvoted because you’re wrong.

Irony.

it's going a few miles south where the new bridge is likely to be built, and a few miles north of Donaldsonville.
So near White Castle, maybe?

Is this state even capable of creating anything other than plants/blue collar work?
Just speaking to the overall trashiness of this state. I guess any job is a good job.

Do you have any idea of the technological complexity of these sites?
Is it finance or medical? No, buts not like the people working at these sites, maintaining and operating them are uneducated chucklefricks that lack any and all intelligence.

Go look at the tract of land this will be on and see what else you could put there.
This will be very good use of the land/area

The LNG facility being built south of Belle Chase is no joke either
Venture is claiming they will have capacity to export 20 million metric tonnes of LNG per year. The campsites in lower Plaquemines are loaded with campers housing the workers building that plant. They told us they have 2 years of guaranteed work. Counted around 70 excavators working at one time when I passed

Just east of it from my understanding - along the river. They will have river access.

A shite load of engineering jobs and industrial design related jobs are in Louisiana because of this. There are plant expansions and modernizations constantly.
I wish there were more corporate HQ’s and more a wider, more diverse range of industries here. But I would not complain about the niche where this state is competitive. It’s a lucrative one. Louisiana absolutely does attract a lot of high pay jobs with these huge new facilities, and they need to have access to supporting plants and a deep water port. With all their problems, the industrial base of Baton Rouge, Lake Charles, and New Orleans are extremely impressive for cities their size. And they offer solid upward mobility - but you have to be in those fields.
I do wish we’d diversify a bit more though - especially into tech centers and durable goods manufacturing (planes, automobiles, motorcycles, tractors, etc).

Hopefully this happens soon. We can use the jobs.
